West Bengal Police Recruitment Board, invites applications from eligible candidates for Recruitment to the post of Constables (Male) in West Bengal Police.

PRELIMINARY WRITTEN EXAM Candidates will be selected on the baiss of MCQ based preliminary written test which is qualifying in nature. There would be 100 objective type questions of 100 marks (General Awareness and General Knowledge- 50 Marks, Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik standard)- 30 Marks, Reasoning- 20 Marks) having multiple choice of answers carrying equal marks each. There will be NEGATIVE marking for each wrong answer. ¼th of the allotted marks for a particular question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
PHYSICAL MEASUREMENT TEST (Qualifying in nature)- Those who qualify in the Preliminary Written Test will be tested (The physical standards (height and weight) of the candidates) by using Electronic Machines.
PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST (Qualifying in nature)- Candidates who qualify in PMT will be allowed to take part in PET which consists of 1600 (Sixteen hundred) meters run within 06 (six) minutes 30 (thirty) seconds.
FINAL WRITTEN EXAMINATION of 85 MARKS- All the candidates who qualify in the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Measurement Test (PET) will be called to appear in the Final Written Examination to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.

Educational Qualification: Candidate must have passed Madhyamik examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination from any other Board recognized by the State Government or the Central Government. The applicant must be able to speak, read and write the Bengali language. Computer Literacy is must.
NVF, Home Guard personnel and Civic Volunteers serving in West Bengal Police completed three years of service as on 01-Jan-2019 are also eligible to apply.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 27 years as on 01-January-2019.
The upper age limit shall be relaxed by Five years for the candidates belonging to the categories of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) and by Three years for the candidates belonging to the category of Other Backward Classes (OBC). The NVF and Home Guard personnel serving in West Bengal Police are also eligible for relaxation of upper age limit as per existing Government order.

In that case, Rs. 5/- only will be charged by the concerned agency as “Service Charge” for availing Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking facility.
On successful submission of the application, the applicants shall be provided with an auto-generated receipt with unique Application Serial Number. Candidates are advised to preserve it safely and mention the Application Serial Number for all future references.

Government of West Bengal has set up more than 4800 Sahaj Mitra Kendras up to the level of Gram Panchayats in the rural areas of West Bengal. Applicants may approach any of the Tathya Mitra Kendras, and so the staff of the Tathya Mitra Kendra will fill up the online application form on the basis of information provided by the applicant.
Rs. 23/- only will be charged by the Sahaj Mitra Kendra for filling up of the form and uploading the same along with Scanned Copies of Candidate’s Photograph and Signature and making online payment of Examination Fees and / or Processing Fees received from the applicant.
Applicants are suggested to keep the printed receipt with registration number with them for future references.

West Bengal Police Recruitment Board extends the facility of paying application fees through the United Bank of India for on-line applicants. During on-line submission of application, a deposit challan will be generated bearing the Application Serial Number. Applicants are suggested to deposit the fee in any branch of Unitd Bank of India. After depositing the Application Fees at the Bank Counter the applicant should log-in to the ‘My Account’ page by using his Username and Password for final submission of application, after one working day.
