The Odisha Police Recruitment Board to begin online application process for direct recruitment of Constable (Civil) Positions.
The Police department of Odisha is one of the most vital departments of the state controlling the law and order of this state, which has been dominated with naxalite movements and simultaneously prospering with a splurge of industrial revolution. The Odisha Police has recently announced notification for induction of Civil Police Constables across various districts of the state. The details of the eligibility criteria and the other essentials for application are detailed as under. As usual being a state government job, this bears adequate security and other benefits with a standard pay scale and remunerations.
The recruitment drive is being conducted for 4790 Posts of Constables (civil) in the Odisha Police Cadre.
Constable (Civil)- 4790 Vacancies
The candidates must have passed +2 Examination or equivalent examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha or by any other recognized Board/Council.
Must have registered in one of the Employment Exchanges of the district or covering the district for which he applies for recruitment, before the date of publication of advertisement for recruitment.
Note- Candidates should be able to read write and speak odia. Passed M.E. School or higher examination with odia Language as a subject or Passed H.S.C. or equivalent examination with Odia as a medium of examination in non-language subject or Passed the written test in odia in M.E. School standard conducted by the board of secondary education Odisha.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of OMR Based Written Examination, Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Driving Test (Optional), Medical Examination. There will not be any viva-voce Test.
Pay Scale: Level -05 of the Pay Matrix in the Scale of Pay (Rs.21,700 – Rs. 69,100)

Tentative Dates for Computer Based Recruitment Exam:
Constable (Civil)– Minimum 18 years and Maximum 23 years as on 01-Jan-2022. However, relaxation in upper age limit applicable as per rules.
Candidates must have required Physical Standard [Qualifying] of Height, Weight and Chest. Physical Standard test will be qualifying in nature.
Physical Efficiency Test [Qualifying] (running and long jump) will be qualifying in nature. Only those candidates who qualified in the Physical Standard shall be allowed to participate in the Physical Efficiency Test.
Men-Constable: Running for 1.6 Kms in 8 minutes 30 seconds. If covered in beyond 6 minutes 30 seconds, the candidate will be disqualified. Broad jump 3.66 mtrs.
Women-Constable: Running fr 1.6 Kms in 8 minutes 30 seconds. If covered beyond 8 minutes 30 seconds, the candidate will be disqualified. Broad jump 2.75 mtrs.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of written examination, physical standard test, physical efficiency test. There shall be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in written examination.
Constable (Communication)- Written Test [100 Marks of 2 Hours Duration] will consist of Objective type multiple choice questions in two parts.
Part A (25 marks): Aptitude test and Logical Reasoning Test, Arithmetic, Odia Language, English Language. The standard of questions will be of 10+2 standard.
Part B (75 marks): Proficiency in Computers. The standard of questions will be such that, a student who has passed Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) or equivalent course will be able to answer.
