Eligibility Criteria: JNU Recruitment Advertisement 1-RC-NT-2023 Eligiblity Criteria
Upper Age Limit As on 31-March-2023: 40 years (50 years for Deputy Registrar). However, relaxation in upper age limit for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD/ Ex-serviceman candidates and departmental candidates of JNU will be applicable as per rules.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Written Test (Paper-I & Paper–II)- Skill
Test & Interview/Personality Test. The written and skill tests will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
Paper- I (MCQ Type) – 150 Questions – 300 Marks FOR ALL POSTS
(i) General Awareness 30 Questions 60 Marks
(ii) Reasoning Ability 35 Questions 70 Marks
(iii) Mathematical Ability 35 Questions 70 Marks
(iv) Test of Language: English Or Hindi 30 Questions 60 Marks
(v) Computer Awareness 20 Questions 40 Marks
SYLLABUS OF EXAM:
Reasoning Ability: The syllabus includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. Test may include questions on analogies, similarities. Differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship, concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series etc.
Mathematical Ability: The test will cover Number System including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, and Profit & Loss. Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Menstruation, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.
Knowledge of Computer: The test will cover Computer Fundaments, Basic Applications of Computer, Components of Computer, Computer Hardware & Software, Operating systems, Word Processing, Internet, and Security & Networking etc.
General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s General Awareness of the environment and its relevance to the society. The questions will also be designed to test knowledge of the current events and of such matters of everyday observation as may be expected of an educated person. The test will include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries, especially pertaining to History, India Policy & Constitution. Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, General Policy. Science & Scientific Research. National/ International Organizations/ Institutions events etc.
Test of English or Hindi: In addition to the testing of candidate’s understanding of the English or Hindi Languages, its Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, and its correct usage etc. would also be tested.
Paper- II (MCQ) – 50 Questions – 100 Marks
FOR Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Section Officer, Senior Assistant, Senior System Analyst, System Analyst, Assistant Engineer, Junior Engineer, Senior Technical Assistant, and Computer Operator Posts
Skill Test: (Qualifying) – FOR Private Secretary, Personal Assistant, Stenographer, Assistant, Junior Assistant Posts
Interview / Personality Test: 100 Marks
Note- The weightage for written test (Paper-I & Paper-II) will be 70% and for Interview/Personality Test will be 30%, wherever applicable.
Application Fee:
UR/EWS/OBC Candidates: Rs. 1,500/- for Group A Posts (Rs. 1,000/- for Group B and Group C Posts)
SC/ST/Women Candidates: Rs. 1,000/- for Group A Posts (Rs. 600/- for Group B and Group C Posts)
PWD Candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.
