BSNL Recruitment Notification for DGM (Telecomm Operation and Telecomm Finance) -2012

BSNL is India’s oldest and largest communication service provider (CSP). It had a customer base of 95 million as of June 2011. It has footprints throughout India except for the metropolitan cities of Mumbai and New Delhi, which are managed by Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL).

With its recent plan for human resource acquisition, BSNL intends to recruit 162 numbers of Deputy General Managers (DGMs) in the premium cadre of recruitment in Executive posts, which is open across India.

The details of the vacancies and the eligibility criteria thereof are mentioned as under:

Mode of Application:

The applications are invited online only through the website of BSNL at www.externalexam.bsnl.co.in

Important Dates:

• Starting date of registration of Online Application (Tentative): 1^st October 2012
• Last date for registration of Online Application: 17^th October 2012
• Last date for receipt of printed Copy of application with DD/PO: 31^st October 2012
• Dates for Online Examination: Will be notified shortly

Details of the Vacancies:

1. Name of the Posts: Deputy General Manager (DGM)
2. Disciplines of Recruitment: Telecomm Operation and Telecomm Finance
3. Number of Vacancies:

DGM (Tele. Operation) – 106 (SC-13, ST-07, OBC-38, PWD-04)

DGM (Tele. Finance) – 56 (SC-9, ST-04, OBC-16, PWD-02)

Scale of Pay:

• The selected candidates will be eligible to receive a scale of Rs.32900-Rs.58000 (with annual increment of 3% of basic) and other allowances and perks as applicable.

Service Liability:

• The applicants selected as DGM will required to serve BSNL in Pan-India basis. The jobs are transferable on temporary and permanent basis.

Eligibility Conditions:

• Nationality: The candidates must be citizens of India or certified citizens of the country
• Academic Qualification:

DGM (Tele. Operation) – 1^st Class (60% and above for General/OBC and 55% for SC/ST) BE/ BTech in streams of Electrical, Electronics and Communication, IT, Computer Science, or equivalent branches

DGM (Tele. Finance) – The candidate must be a CA/ ICWA/ CS

• Work Experience:

A)   Minimum 12 years of post qualification experience as on 1^st of August 2012

B)   Minimum 3 years of experience in E4 grade

C)   Minimum 5 years of work experience in public sector or private sector (whose turnover is more than 100 Crores)

• Age: The age of an applicant must not cross 45 years as on 1^st of August 2012. However, there will be relaxation in upper age limit as per rules

Selection Procedure:

• The selection will be done through Online assessment examination (Written mode)
• Candidates will be further selected in order of merit
• The candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification
• After original document verification, the candidates will be called for personal interview

Application Fee:

• For SC/ ST/ PWD: Rs.750 (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty only)
• For all Others: Rs.1500 (Rupees Fifteen Hundred only)

How to Pay the Application Fee:

• The application fees can be paid through Demand Draft and Pay Order in favour of AO (Cash), BSNL, New Delhi and should be payable at New Delhi
• No other mode of fee payment will be acceptable

• The candidates need to apply Online through the portal of BSNL at www.externalexam.bsnl.co.in
• The candidates can receive update about this advertisement through the portal of BSNL at www.bsnl.co.in
• After applying online, the candidates have to take a print out of the Online Application form and attach that with all necessary credential documents and DD or Pay Order (fees) and send that through registered post/ speed post to the following address
• The physical copy of the application form must reach the below mentioned address on or before 30^th of October 2012

Probation/ Training Period and Service Bond:

All candidates selected for the above mentioned post shall undergo a compulsory probation-cum-Training period of 1 year. The total probation period will be for two years from the date of joining.

The selected candidates must sign a Service Bond with BSNL to continue in the service for at least a period of five years from the date of appointment.

1. Three recent Passport size photographs (one on application form, and two others attached to the Submitted Online Application Form)
2. Two numbers of 27X12 inch size, self-addressed unstamped envelop
3. Demand Draft or Pay Order
