Public Service Commission Of West Bengal Invites Competent Applications For Various Positions

The West Bengal Public Service Commission as one of the most respectable state level public service commission is in charge of recruiting various competent candidates for various profiles of positions under the government departments of West Bengal.

With the recent notification, the PSC invites competent candidates for recruitment of various vacancies at different levels of government operation. The details of the vacancies and the recruitment profiles are mentioned as under:

General Eligibility Conditions:

• The aspirants intend to go for the following vacancies must be able to Read, Write and Speak Bengali
• This is not applicable for Nepali speaking candidates from the hilly areas of Darjeeling district
• The candidates must apply with the prescribed application form only which can be downloaded from the website of WB PSC at //www.pscwb.org.in
• Candidates if interested can apply for multiple posts with separate application forms
• But, an aspirant can not apply for multiple times for a same post, which may subject to disqualification of candidature
• The candidates have to pay the application fees in form of IPO (Indian Postal Order) or a fee receipt challan as detailed in subsequent stages of this advertisement
• Wrong or misleading information may subject to cancellation of application
• Application form must be complete in all respect
• Experience if required for certain posts will be experience counted on full time engagement only
• Applications should be sent strictly by Registered or Speed Post or Under Certificate Of Posting to:

• Two self-addressed unstamped envelope and one self-addressed post card should be attached along with the application

Details of posts and corresponding requirements:

INSPECTOR OF FACTORIES (CHEMICAL)

• Department: Department of Labor, Govt of West Bengal
• No. of posts: 04 (One each for SC, ST, OBC and PWD)
• Pay Scale: Rs.15600 – Rs.42000 with Grade pay of Rs.6600 (Other allowances as applicable)
• Academics: Degree in Chemical Engineering
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a renowned Chemical Workshop
• Age: Should not be more than 35 years as on 1^st of January 2012

DISTRICT LIBRARY OFFICER

• Department: Department of Mass Education, Govt of West Bengal
• No. of posts: 01 (SC)
• Pay Scale: Rs.15600 – Rs.42000 with Grade pay of Rs.5400 (Other allowances as applicable)
• Academics: Masters Degree in Library Science or 2^nd Class Masters Degree with Diploma/ Degree in Library Science
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in Management, Promotion and Development of Library Services or combined experience of 2 years in above capacities and Teaching of Library Science
• Age: Should not be more than 35 years as on 1^st of January 2012 (relaxable other-wise for well experienced candidates)

ASSISTANT ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL)

• Department: Service of Engineers, Irrigation and Waterways Department, Govt of West Bengal
• No. of posts: 08 (02 for SC and 01 each for ST and OBC)
• Pay Scale: Rs.15600 – Rs.42000 with Grade pay of Rs.5400 (Other allowances as applicable)
• Academics: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from a recognized University
• Experience: Experience of 1 year in Post-Graduate practical training or study or research or practical engineering experience (Desirable not mandatory)
• Age: Should not be more than 32 years as on 1^st of January 2012 (relaxable in case of deserving candidates from state or central government employees)

ASSISTANT ENGINEER (AGRI-IRRIGATION)

• Department: Water Resource Investigation and Development Department, Govt of West Bengal
• No. of posts: 16 (04 for SC and 01 each for ST and PWD and 02 for OBC)
• Pay Scale: Rs.15600 – Rs.42000 with Grade pay of Rs.5400 (Other allowances as applicable)
• Academics: Degree in Civil or Agricultural Engineering from a recognized University
• Experience: Experience of 1 year in Post-Graduate practical training or study or research or practical engineering experience (Desirable not mandatory)
• Age: Should not be more than 32 years as on 1^st of January 2012 (relaxable in case of deserving candidates from state or central government employees)

Application Fees:

• For Unreserved category: Rs. 210
• For SC, ST, OBC & PWD: NIL

• The application fee can be remitted in shape of Indian Postal Order or Fee challan only
• No fee in shape of cash, DD or Cheque will be accepted

How to pay the Application Fees:

• Postal Order: In favor of The Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal and should be crossed and purchased after the date of release of this advertisement
• Treasury Challan: In favor of “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees” and must be remitted at Reserve Bank or India, Kolkata or Govt. Treasury, West Bengal.
