West Bengal Power Development Company Ltd. Recruitment 2013: 291 Vacancies

The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL), as  a Government of West Bengal Enterprise, engaged in the business of Generation of Electricity in the State of West Bengal. With the recent announcement, it invites applications from Indian Nationals to fill-up the following positions for its Corporate Office and Power Stations / Projects located at different places across West Bengal.

The details of the vacancies and the detailed criteria for recruitment is detailed as under:

Details of Vacancies:

Trainee -Operator / Technician

  • No. of positions: 175  (Fitter – 88 and Electrician – 87)
    • Fitter – 88 (SC–20, OBC(A)–09, OBC(B)–06, ST–05, UR–43, PWD–03, MSP-02)
    • Electrician – 87 (SC–19, OBC(A)–08, OBC (B)–07, ST–06, UR–42, PWD–03, MSP-02)
  • Qualification: At least 50% marks in Madhyamik or equivalent examination and Trade Certificate (ITI) under NCVT from any ITI in the trade of Fitter / Electrician (2yrs duration) respectively. Part time courses / courses undertaken through Distance mode / sandwich courses shall not be considered.
  • Age: Maximum age 26 yrs as on 01-Apr-2013 for General category candidates. Relaxable as per rules for other category.
  • Pay Scale: Stipend of Rs.7500 per month during 01(One) year traineeship. On absorption to be placed in Pay Band of Rs.6300 – Rs.20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.2600.

Assistant Sub Inspector (Security)

  • No. of positions: 36 posts (SC–9, ST-2, OBC(A)–3, OBC(B)–3, UR–17, PWD–01, MSP-1)
  • Qualification: Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with at least 5 (five) years service in Defense / Para-Military service with Experience in Industrial Security in a responsible position.
  • Age: Maximum age 35 yrs as on 01-Apr-2013 for General category candidates. Relaxable as per rules for other category.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.6300 – Rs.20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.2600.

Nurse cum Midwife

  • No. of positions: 09 posts (SC–4, ST-1, OBC(A)–2, OBC(B)–1, PWD–01)
  • Qualification: Higher Secondary / equivalent and having Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery and having registration with the West Bengal Nursing Council. 01(One) year working experience in OT and inpatient department will be preferred.
  • Age: Maximum age 30 yrs as on 01-Apr-2013 for General category candidates. Relaxable as per rules for other category.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.6300 – Rs.20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.2600.

Security Officer

  • No. of positions: 05 posts (SC–1, ST-1, UR–3)
  • Qualification: Graduate in any discipline with at least 5 yrs service in Defense/ Para Military service/ Short Service Commission not below the rank of Lieutenant/ Assistant Commandant. Experience in Industrial security in a responsible position will be preferred.
  • Age: Maximum age 35 yrs as on 01-Apr-2013 for General category candidates. Relaxable as per rules for other category.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.5400.

Stenographer

  • No. of positions: 15 posts (SC-4, ST-1, OBC(A)-2, OBC(B)-1, UR-6, PWD–1)
  • Qualification: Graduate in any discipline with at least 50 % marks, having proficiency in English language. Candidates must know the operations of MS Office and must have minimum speed of 100 words per minute in shorthand with Computer key depression speed of at least 8000 per hour. Knowledge of typing in Bengali font will be considered as an added qualification.
  • Age: Maximum age 30 yrs as on 01-Apr-2013 for General category candidates. Relaxable as per rules for other category.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.6300 – Rs.20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.3600.

Medical Officer

  • No. of positions: 02 posts (ST-1, OBC(A)–1)
  • Qualification: MBBS from any institute with 01(one) year internship. Preference shall be given to candidates having 01(one) year experience of House Staff ship in Medicine/ Cardiology/ Pediatrics/ Child Care.
  • Age: Maximum age 33 yrs (35 years for ST) as on 01-Apr-2013 for OBC category candidates.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.5400.

Assistant Teacher

  • No. of positions: 19 posts (Bengali–1, Sanskrit-1, Mathematics–3, Chemistry–3, Bio Science–3, Physics–4, Political Science–1, Economics-1, Education–1, Philosophy–1)
  • Qualification: Honors Graduate in respective discipline / subject with at least 50% marks in Honors subject at Graduate level having either of the desired pass subjects as mentioned in detailed advt along with Degree in Bachelor of Education (B. Ed). Candidates applying as post graduates must have also secured 50% at Post graduate level in the respective discipline.
  • Age: Maximum age 30 yrs as on 01-Apr-2013 for General category candidates. Relaxable as per rules for other category.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.9000 – Rs.40500 with Grade Pay of Rs.4800 (for Post Graduate candidates) & Pay Band of Rs.9000 – Rs.40500 with Grade Pay of Rs.4700 (for Honors Graduate candidates).

Assistant Manager (IT)

  • No. of positions: 22 posts (SC-6, ST-1, OBC(A)-2, OBC(B)-2, UR-10, PWD-1)
  • Qualification: : B.E. / B.Tech (4 Years fulltime) in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Age: Maximum age 26 yrs as on 01-Apr-2013 for General category candidates. Relaxable as per rules for other category.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.5400.

Assistant Manager (Legal)

  • No. of positions: 01 post (SC)
  • Qualification: 5 yrs integrated degree in Law / Graduate with LLB and approved by the Bar Council of India having 2 yrs post qualification experience or more as legal practitioner or as an officer.
  • Age: Maximum age 33 yrs as on 01-Apr-2013 for SC category candidates.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.5400.

Radiographer

  • No. of positions: 03 posts (SC-1, UR-2)
  • Qualification: Higher Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from WBHSE or equivalent with 2 years Diploma in Radiography (Diagnostics) / DRD (Tech.). Preference will be given to candidates having 01 (one) year experience in any Hospital or in a clinical establishment.
  • Age: Maximum age 30 yrs as on 01-Apr-2013 for General category candidates. Relaxable for other category as per norms.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.6300 – Rs.20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.3600.

Pharmacist

  • No. of positions: 01 post (SC)
  • Qualification: Higher Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent and 2 year diploma course in Pharmacy and registered as ‘A’ category Pharmacist under the West Bengal Pharmacy Council / Pharmacy Council of India. Preference will be given to candidates having 01 (one) year experience in any Hospital or in a clinical establishment.
  • Age: Maximum age 30 yrs as on 01-Apr-2013 for SC category candidates.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.6300 – Rs.20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.3600.

Laboratory Technician

  • No. of positions: 02 posts (SC-1, UR-1)
  • Qualification: Higher Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent and 2 year diploma course in Laboratory Technology OR, B.Sc with 1 year Diploma course in Laboratory Technology. Preference will be given to candidates having 01 (one) year experience in any Hospital or in a clinical establishment.
  • Age: Maximum age 30 yrs as on 01-Apr-2013 for General category candidates. Relaxable for 5 years for SC category.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.6300 – Rs.20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.3600.

Librarian

  • No. of positions: 01 post (UR)
  • Qualification: Graduate with Degree / Diploma in Library Science.
  • Age: Maximum age 30 yrs as on 01-Apr-2013 for Genral category candidates.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.7100 – Rs.37600 with Grade Pay of Rs.3900.

NOTE: Part time courses / courses undertaken through Distance mode / sandwich courses shall not be considered.

Mode of Selection:

  • The selection of candidates will be done by Written Test (only at Kolkata), group Discussion and / or Personal Interview as per the discretion of the West Bengal Power Development Company Ltd.
  • Candidates who will qualify on Merit basis will be inducted as per the company policy.

  • For General and OBC candidates: Rs.300
  • For SC/ ST/ EC/ Contractors’ workers/ Departmental candidates: Fees exempted
  • The fees can be deposited in shape of Demand Draft / Bankers Cheque drawn in favor of ‘THE WEST BENGAL POWER DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LIMITED’ payable at Kolkata.
  • No other mode of fees will be accepted by WBPDCL
