Candidates inducted under Short Service Commission will be granted the commission initially for 12 years extendable further for two years. Female candidates can apply for Short Service Commission Officers in Education branch/ Cadre only.

Educational Qualification:
Permanent Commission Officers in Logistics Cadre- BE/B.Tech in any discipline or MBA or B.Sc / B.Com/ B.Sc.(IT) with first class and a PG Diploma in Finance/ Logistics/ Supply Chain Management/ Material Management or MCA/ M.Sc (IT). Candidates must possess minimum 60% marks.
Short Service Commission Officer in Education Branch- M.Sc. Physics (with Maths in B.Sc.) or M.Sc. Maths (with Physics in B.Sc.) or M.Sc. Chemistry (with Physics in B.Sc.) or M.A. (English) (with Physics or Maths in Intermediate or equivalent standard) or M.A. (History); OR BE/ B.Tech/ M.Tech in Mech/ Electrical/ Electronics. Candidates must possess minimum 60% marks.
Age Limit:
Short Service Commission Officer in Education Branch- Candidates must have been born between 02-Jan-1994 and 01-Jan-1998.
Permanent Commission Officers in Logistics Cadre- Candidates must have been born between 02-Jan-1994 and 02-July-1999.
Physical Standards: Candidates must have fulfill minimum required physical norms.
Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will be called for SSB interviews to be held at Bangalore, Bhopal, Coimbatore, and Visakhapatnam during May 2018 to July 2018. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their e-mail or through SMS. SSB interview will be conducted in two Stages. Stage I test consisting of Intelligence Test, Picture Perception and Discussion test will be conducted on the first day of arrival at SSB. Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II tests comprising of Psychological testing, Group testing and Interview will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination.
Selected candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at Indian Naval Academy followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishments/ Units/ Ships.

Age Limit: Candidates should be Born between 02 Jul 1993 – 01 Jul 1997 for Education, Born between 02 Jul 1991 – 01 Jul 1996 for Law and Born between 02 Jul 1993 – 01 Jan 1999 for Logistics & IT.
