The Indian Navy invites application from unmarried eligible candidates for grant of Short Service Commission in Executive Branch viz General Service/ Hydro and Technical Branch (General Service) and Permanent Commission (PC) in Executive Branch, Naval Armament Inspectorate Cadre (NAIC) in the Indian Navy for January 2020 Course conducted at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala.

Minimum Qualification Required:
Executive General Service/ Hydrography Cadre – 30 Vacancies – The candidate must possess BE/B.Tech degree in any discipline with minimum 60% of marks.
Executive/ NAIC – 12 Vacancies – The candidate must possess BE/ B.Tech in Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics/ Applied Electronics & Instrumentation/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Tele Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Instrumentation/ Instrumentation & Control/ Micro-electronics/ Mechanical/ Control/ Industrial Production/ Industrial/ Production/ Aero Space/ Metallurgy/ Metallurgical/ Chemical/ Material Science/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer/ Computer Application with minimum 60% of marks.
Technical Engineering Branch (General Service)- 28 Vacancies: The candidates must possess BE/ B.Tech in Mechanical/ Marine/ Instrumentation/ Production/ Aeronautical/ Industrial Engineering & Management/ Control Engineering/ Aero Space/ Automobiles/ Metallurgy/ Mechatronics/ Instrumentation & Control Engineering with minimum 60% of marks.
Technical Electrical Branch (General Service)- 32 Vacancies: The candidates must possess BE/B.Tech in Electrical/ Electronics/ Tele Communication/ Electronics & Communication/ Power Engineering/ Control System Engineering/ Power Electronics/ Avionics/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Instrumentation & Control with minimum 60% of marks.
Note:The candidates in the final year of Engineering can also apply.
Age Limit: The candidates applying for these executive branches must achieve the minimum age of 191/2 years and maximum age of 25 years. The candidate’s date of birth should be between January 02, 1995 and July 01, 2000 (both dates inclusive).
Physical Standards: The candidates must possess the minimum specified Physical standard in order to get qualified for these Executive Branches of Short Service Commission. There will be no relaxation in the base defined medical/physical standards.
Training: The training is scheduled to commence in January, 2020.
Candidates finally selected for Tech (GS) Branch and Executive (GS) will be inducted as Officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant. Officers of Tech (GS) & NAIC will undergo 22 Weeks Naval Orientation Course and Officer of Executive GS(X)/Hydro will undergo 44 Weeks Naval orientation Course at the Naval Academy, Ezhimala followed by professional training in Naval Ships and Training Establishments.
The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy including free clothing and messing. Full pay and allowances will be applicable for candidates during this training period. Probation period for NAIC Officers is three years and for GS(X)/Hydro/SSC (Tech), it is two years which will commence from the date of grant of the rank of Sub Lt.
Short Service Commission in Executive (General Service/ Hydro), Technical Branch (General Service) will be granted for initial period of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to Service requirement, performance and willingness of the candidate.
Mode of Selection: The candidates will be selected on the basis of SSB interview to be held at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Coimbatore/ Visakhapatnam during April, 2019 to July, 2019.
SSB interview will be conducted in two Stages. Stage I test consisting of Intelligence Test, Picture Perception and Discussion test will be conducted on the first day of arrival at SSB. Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II tests comprising of Psychological testing, Group testing and Interview will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination.
