Pay Scale Provisions: A candidate selected for joining as Assistant Commandant will be placed in basic pay Rs. 56100/- (Pay level-10) as per 7th pay commission. Apart from this the candidate will be eligible to receive allowances and perks as per their nature of duty and the place of duty.

The Preliminary Selection will be conducted during ____ at various centres or any other centre promulgated by Coast Guard.

Who can Apply:

For General Duty- Unmarried male candidates having a Bachelor’s degree with minimum 60% marks in aggregate from any University recognized by the Central/ State Govt/ UGC. Additionally the candidate should have qualified 12th standard with aggregate of 55% marks in Physics and Maths.

The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics.

For Commercial Pilot Licence (SSA) – Candidates must have passed 12th class or equivalent with physics and mathematics as subjects with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed diploma are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics.

Candidates must possess current Commercial Pilot Licence issued/ validated by Director General Civil Aviation on
the date of submission of application.

For Technical Branch- Unmarried Male candidates having:

(i) Degree with 60% marks in aggregate in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace; Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics, recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Or, should have passed sections A and B of Institute of Engineers (India) Examination in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace; Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with 60% marks.

The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics.

For Law Branch- A degree in Law from a recognized university with minimum 60% aggregate marks.

Note: There will be 5% relaxation in aggregate in the Degree certificate only for NCC ‘C’ certificate (‘A’ grade) holders, sports person of National level and wards of Coast Guard uniform personnel deceased while in service. But no relaxation for 12th class marks will be considered.

Age Limit: Born between 01 Jul 1997 to 30 Jun 2001 (Both dates inclusive).

Additional Eligibility criteria:

(a)      The candidates failed in Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) or suspended from flying training at Air Force Academy cannot appear for Pilot branch however may apply for Navigator (or Observer)

(b) The upper age limit for OBC/SC/ST is relaxable as per Govt. of India rules

(c) Candidates withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any other service training academy are not eligible to appear

(d) Candidates should not have been arrested, convicted or prosecuted on criminal charges

(e) Candidates appeared in the final year/ semester exam and awaiting result may also apply provided they should not have any present back log. Such candidates should be able to provide provisional / original degree certificate issued by the University at the time of Preliminary Selection. Provisional degree issued by the college will not be accepted.

(f) Candidates holding five years LLB integrated degree after passing XIIth with Maths and Physics or three years LLB degree with Physics + Maths as subjects in 10+2 can also apply in General Duty branches

Selection Procedure: Candidates will have to appear many phases of selection prior to his final selection as Assistant Commandant in Coast Guard.

The phases are:
Preliminary Selection: Consisting of Mental Ability (Picture Perception and Picture Detection test)

Final Selection: The candidates selected in the Preliminary Selection will be eligible for Final selection. The final selection will be consisting of Psychological Test, Group Testing and Interview.

Medical Fitness Standards: All eligible candidates will have to clear the Medical Fitness Standards as mentioned in the Service Rule Books. The details of the Medial fitness standards can be obtained from the Coast Guard website at www.indiancoastguard.nic.in

How to Apply: The candidates need to apply ‘Online only’ in between 17 August 2022 and 07 September 2022. A candidate can log on to www.joincoastguard.org

Important instructions for filling of online application:-

  • The guidelines to fill the application will be displayed and must be read by the candidates. Click on the ‘I Agree’ button and the ‘Online Application’ will be displayed. Select the ‘Officer’ entry button and fill in all the particulars for the desired branch. One candidate can apply for one branch only. Multiple applications by the same candidate will be summarily rejected.
  • Candidates to choose any one venue out of the options displayed.
  • Name of candidate, father/mother’s name and date of birth should be as per his 10th class pass certificate.
  • While filling up the application form, candidates are required to indicate exact percentage of 12th and Degree up to two decimals and are not to be rounding off. Any false entry of percentage detected at any stage of selection will be out-rightly rejected.
  • E-mail address and mobile number are mandatory for getting updates regarding the selection process.
  • Before clicking the ‘Submit’ button, it should be checked whether all the details entered in the form are correct as you will not be able to make any corrections after submitting the application.
  • After submitting the form an acknowledgement with a Registration number will be provided to the candidate. The filled Application Form, with the number generated will be available to the candidate to save and take a print. For candidates NOT meeting the eligibility criteria, a ‘Rejection Slip, giving the cause of rejection with the Application Number’ will be displayed. The Last Date of applying online is 07 September 2022.
  • After submitting online application, candidates are required to print two copies of the application with number generated by the system. Both copies of the print out of application duly signed with photograph are to be carried by the applicant to the testing centre. Out of the two copies one copy enclosed with photocopies of all required documents i.e. class 10th certificate/mark sheet showing date of birth, 12th class certificate along with mark sheet showing subjects, Degree certificate showing percentage of marks, caste certificate wherever required and NCC ‘C’ certificate/games certificate duly attested by the Gazzetted Officer shall also be carried by the candidate and submitted at the examination centre. Second copy without any enclosure is to be kept with the candidate as an identity proof during the selection procedure.
