Indian Coast Guard, Ministry of Defence invites application from eligible unmarried candidates for recruitment of Navik (General Duty) and Navik (Domestic Branch) in the Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union.

The basic training for Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch) will commence tentatively in Early/ Mid Sep 2024 at at INS Chilka followed by sea training and professional training in the allotted trade.

Educational Qualification: 

Navik (General Duty)- Candidate should possess minimum qualification of 10+2 with 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 50% marks in Maths and Physics from an education board recognised by Central/ State Government.

Age Limit: Not less than 18 years and not more than 22 years of age.

Navik (General Duty)- Candidates should be born between 01 Sep 2002 to 31 Aug 2006 (both dates inclusive). Upper age relaxation of 5 years will be offered to SC/ ST while 3 years to OBC (non-creamy) candidates.

Pay Scale: Recruited candidates on joining Indian Coast Guard, will be placed in Basic pay Rs. 21700/- (Pay Level-3) plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances. Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Pradhan Adhikari with pay scale Rs. 47600/- (Pay Level 8) with Dearness Allowance.

Mode of Selection: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Computer Based Online Examination, followed by Physical Fitness Test, Document verification and Medicals. All the shortlisted candidates will have to undergo written test covering subjects as

Stage-I [Mid/End Apr 2024]

Navik (General Duty): Section I Exam: Maths, Science, English, Reasoning and GK of 60 Marks + Section II Exam: Maths, Physics of 50 Marks. Passing in section I and II separately is compulsory.

Stage-II [Mid/ End May 2024]

Those who qualify written tests (Computer Based Online Examination) will undergo Physical Fitness Test [1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 Squat ups (UthakBaithak), 10 Pushup], and Initial Medical Examination (Preliminary).

Stage-III [Early/Mid Oct 2024]

Based on the performance in Stage-I & Stage-II, an all India merit list will be prepared and e-admit card for stage-III (final medicals at INS Chilka) will be issued. The duration of Stage-III is 1 to 2 days.

Stage-IV

The candidates who clear stage III candidates will be provisionally shortlisted for training at INS Chilka. After that all recruited candidates will be put to basic training at INS Chilka; followed by sea training and professional training in the allotted trade. Branch/trade will be allocated as per the requirement of service and performance during basic training.

Exam Fee: Rs. 300/- Applicants are suggested to pay the examination fee through online mode only by using net banking or by using Visa/ Master/ Maestro/Rupay Credit/Debit Card/ UPI. Candidates from SC/ST category are entitled for waiver of examination fee.

Indian Coast Guard, Ministry of Defence invites application from eligible unmarried candidates for recruitment of Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch) and Yantrik in the Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union.

Stage-II 

Assessment/Adaptability Test, Physical Fitness Test, Document Verification, Initial Medicals Examination, Preparation of Final Merit List for Stage-III
