Candidates will be selected on the basis of written exam of 100 marks, and PST (Physical Standard Test) and PET (Physical Efficiency Test). There will be negative marking of ½ mark for each wrong answer.
Written Exam Syllabus- (i) Logical reasoning, aptitude, comprehension (ii) Matters relating to History and Culture of Assam and India and (iii) General Knowledge
Selected candidates will be called for PST (Physical Standard Test) and PET (Physical Efficiency Test) on merit basis.
Sub-Inspector of Police (Unarmed Branch)- Final Merit List will be prepared as Written Exam of 100 marks, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) of 40 marks, NCC of 5 marks, and Oral/ Viva Voce of 5 marks.
Sub-Inspector of Police (Communication)- Final Merit List will be prepared as Written Exam of 100 marks, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) of 40 marks, NCC of 5 marks, and Oral/ Viva Voce of 5 marks.
Sub-Inspector of Police (Armed Branch)- Final Merit List will be prepared as Written Exam of 100 marks, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) of 80 marks, and Psychometric Test of 20 marks.
Final merit list will be published in the Assam Police Website as well as in leading dailies of Assam.

Eligibility Criteria:
Sub-Inspector of Police (UB)- The Candidate must possess Bachelor’s Degree in Arts / Science/ Commerce or equivalent stream from a recognized College/ Institutions affiliated to a recognized University.
Sub-Inspector of Police (Communication)- Candidates must possess B.Sc. (Electronics Science/ IT/ Computer Science) (10+2+3 duration) OR
3-year Diploma from State Polytechnic in Electronics and Tele Communication, or Electronics or Information Technology, or Instrumentation or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent with 2 years work experience in the field of Electronics, Telecom, IT or allied environment. OR
3-year Diploma from State Polytechnic in Electronics and Tele Communication, or Electronics or Information Technology, or Instrumentation or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent and 2 years additional course/courses in Telecommunication /IT /Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or equivalent.
Candidates must have fulfil required minimum physical and medical standards.
Sub-Inspector of Police (AB)- The candidate must be a graduate in Arts/ Science/ Commerce or equivalent stream from a recognized College/ Institution affiliated to a recognized University.

Age Limit: Candidate should not be more than 26 years (24 years for AB) and less than 20 years of age as on 1st January 2023.
