Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) shall hold a combined examination for NET-2023, Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) (T-6) and Senior Technical Officer (STO) (T-6) Examination-2023.
Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) was established in order to support the ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) and other Agricultural Universities of the State level for selection of competent personnel for the positions of Assistant Professors/ Junior Scientists/ Scientists as well as Lecturers for the research and development of Agricultural Science in India. This board is functioning tirelessly to fulfill its objective of supporting ICAR in finding the right personnel for various levels of operation in India.

Details of Vacancies:
For NET-2023: National Eligibility Test (NET) is a qualifying examination for determining eligibility for the position of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs).
There is no restrictions on the number of posts as it is a Awarding Test to allow a person eligibility to act as a Lecturer in Agricultural Colleges/ Universities.
Candidates clearing the National Eligibility Test will be eligible to apply for the post of Lecturers or Assistant Professors in the SAUs/AUs.
For SMS (T6) 2023: 163 Vacancies
SMS (T-6) Examination is a direct recruitment examination for the post of Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) (T-6) at Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) under the administrative control of ICAR.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of online (CBT) SMS (T-6) Examination and the Interview.
Selected candidates will be recommended for appointment as Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) (T-6) of
Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in the Pay Matrix Level 10 – ₹ 56,100 – 1,77,500 of the 7th CPC.
For STO (T6) 2023: 32 Vacancies
STO (T-6) Examination is a direct recruitment examination for the post of Senior Technical Officer (STO) (T-6) at ICAR Headquarters and its Research Institutes.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of online (CBT) STO (T-6) Examination and the Interview.
Selected candidates will be recommended for appointment as Senior Technical Officer (STO) (T-6) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in the Pay Matrix Level 10 – ₹ 56,100 – 1,77,500 of the 7th CPC.
Important Eligibility Conditions:
Academic Requirements: The candidates interested in both these examinations must have secured a Masters Degree in concerned branches of Agricultural Science with Specialization as defined on the detailed notification. Age Requirement: The applicant must have attended the minimum age of 21 years to attend the NET 2023 as on 01-January-2023. There is no upper age limit for the National Eligibility Test.
The applicant must have attended the minimum age of 21 years and must not have crossed maximum age of 35 years of age as on 10-April-2023 to attend the SMS (T-6) 2023 and STO (T-6) 2023. However, relaxation in upper age limit applicable as per government rules.
Application Fees:
For SC/ ST/ PWD and Women candidates: [NET- Rs. 250/-, SMS/ STO (T-6)- Nil]
For General: Rs.1500/- [NET- Rs. 1000/-, SMS/ STO (T-6)- Rs. 500/-]
For Other Backward Class (OBC) Non-Creamy Layer: [NET- Rs. 500/-, SMS/ STO (T-6)- Rs. 500/-]
The candidates applying for any one examination are required to remit examination fee for that examination only as mentioned above. Candidates can consider either for NET or SMS/ STO or any combination of the three. Payment can be made through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/ UPI payment.
Number of Attempts: There is no restriction on number of attempts for appearing in the National Eligibility Test.
Mode of Selection: NET (I) 2023 Examination, SMS (T-6) and Senior Technical Officer (STO) (T6) Examination will be conducted in Online format at the designated Centres.
The questions of the Examination will be available in bilingual form i.e. in Hindi and English medium. The answers are to be indicated on the Computer itself during the Examination.

NET (I) 2023 and SMS (T-6) and Senior Technical Officer (STO) (T6) (Objective Type) 150 marks 2 hours duration. 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in the NET-2023.
