VO Chidambaranar Port is located strategically close to East-West International waters on the South-Eastern coast of India. This is an artificial deep sea harbor with rubble mound type parallel breakwaters projecting around 4 km in to the deep sea. It was the first major port in India, to implement ISO 9001 quality management system. This is one of the most prominent ports of India and retains a glorious pride for its presence and operation in India. This is one of the most preferred posts for its strategic location and easy connectivity. With the recent notification from the VO Chidambaranar Port Trust, there is an announcement for induction of Trade Apprentices. Candidates, who are young and enthusiastic in creating a dynamic career for them, can appear this selection to get inducted as apprentice trainee in VO Chidambaranar Port Trust.

Mechanic (Diesel): 2 Years (Rs.2400 PM for 1st Year and Rs.2800 PM for 2nd Year)
Electrician: 1 Year (Rs.2800 Per Month)
Fitter: 1 Year (Rs.2800 Per Month)
Welder: 1 Year (Rs.2800 Per Month)
Forger & Heat Treater: 2 Years (Rs.2400 PM for 1st Year and Rs.2800 PM for 2nd Year)
Sheet Metal Worker: 2 Years (Rs.2400 PM for 1st Year and Rs.2800 PM for 2nd Year)
Mechanic Motor Vehicle: 1 Year (Rs.2800 Per Month)
Draughtsman (Mechanical): 1 Year (Rs.2800 Per Month)
PASSA: 1 Year (Rs.2800 Per Month)
Technician Apprentice (Mechanical): 1 Year (Rs.2530 Per Month)
Technician Apprentice (Electrical): 1 Year (Rs.2530 Per Month)
NOTE: Other allowances and perks will be applicable as per rules of VO Chidambaranar Port Trust.
Educational Eligibility:
- Mechanic (Diesel): The applicant must have completed 10th (Matriculation) or its equivalent with a Trade Certificate (ITI) in Mechanic (Diesel) Trade
- Electrician: The applicant must have completed 10th (Matriculation) or its equivalent with a Trade Certificate (ITI) in Electrician Trade
- Fitter: The applicant must have completed 10th (Matriculation) or its equivalent with a Trade Certificate (ITI) in Fitter Trade
- Welder: The applicant must have completed 10th (Matriculation) or its equivalent with a Trade Certificate (ITI) in Welder Trade
- Forger & Heat Treater: The applicant must have completed 10th (Matriculation) or its equivalent with a Trade Certificate (ITI) in Forger & Heat Treater Trade
- Sheet Metal Worker: The applicant must have completed 10th (Matriculation) or its equivalent with a Trade Certificate (ITI) in Sheet Metal Worker Trade
- Mechanic Motor Vehicle: The applicant must have completed 10th (Matriculation) or its equivalent with a Trade Certificate (ITI) in Mechanic Motor Vehicle Trade
- Draughtsman (Mechanical): The applicant must have completed 10th (Matriculation) or its equivalent with a Trade Certificate (ITI) in Draftsman (Mechanical) Trade
- PASSA: The applicant must have completed Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent with a Certificate in COPA course
- Technician Apprentice (Mechanical): The applicant should have completed Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent.
- Technician Apprentice (Electrical): The applicant should have completed Diploma in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent.
Selection Procedure: The selection to these posts will be done through a Scrutiny of Candidature and Marks of the candidates. The VO Chidambaranar Port Trust may conduct Written Examination and/ or Interview for selection.
