Medical Services Recruitment Board( MRB), invites application from 1800 temporary doctors, who were appointed temporarily as Assistant Surgeons, Medical Officers and Non-Service Post Graduate/ Diploma holders and Tutors in the time scale of pay with reference to G.O.(D).No.349, Health and Family Welfare (B1) Department, dated February 29,2016 and G.O.(D) No.1205, Health and Family Welfare (B1) Department, dated September 02,2016 and continuing in service as on the date of this notification so as to absorb them as Assistant Surgeons on regular basis by conducting Special Qualifying Examination.

Minimum Qualification Required: The Candidates must possess MBBS degree or its equivalent qualification awarded by a University or Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission. Candidates should possess the qualification on the date of their temporary appointment as Assistant Surgeons.
Age Limit As on July 01,2016: Maximum age limit is 35 years. However, relaxation in upper age limit is applicable as per government rules.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15,600-39,100/- plus Grade Pay Rs. 5,400/-
Mode of Selection: The candidate will be selected on the basis of marks scored by the candidate in the written examination.
Rs.750/- for General category candidates
Rs.375/- for SC/SCA/ST/DAP(PH) category candidates
The candidates can pay the application fee either through online payment gateway, i.e. Net Banking, Credit Card/Debit card/Mobile wallet Payment or through offline mode in Indian Bank.

The concerned Head of the Departments shall forward the print out of on-line application submitted by the applicant with a covering letter to the Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. And DPH will consolidate and forward all such applications to Medical Services Recruitment Board.

Educational Qualification & Experience: The candidates must possess MBBS Degree with PG Diploma/ PG Degree/ Super Specialty Degree/ DNB in the concerned Specialty to be eligible to apply for these posts.
Apart from this, The applicant must have registered as a practitioner within the meaning of the Madras Medical Act. Must have served as House Surgeon for a period of at least 12 months. The applicant should have registered their name in the Tamil Nadu Medical Council / Tamil Nadu Dental Council, and The applicant should poses adequate knowledge in Tamil.
Age Criteria: The applicant should not have crossed Maximum age limit of 35 years as on 01-July-2015. However, there is no max age specified for SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC&DCs, BCs, BCMs candidates/ applicants.
Pay Scale: The selected candidates will be eligible for a pay as per the criteria for Tamil Nadu Medical Services in the scale of Pay Band-III in the range of Rs.15600-39100/- and a Grade Pay of Rs.5400/-.

Rs.375/- for SC/ SCA/ ST/ Differently Abled candidates
The fees can be remitted through offline mode in cash or through online mode through NEFT at any branch of Indian Bank. In addition, candidates have to pay the service charges applicable to the Indian Bank (in case of offline payments). The fees can be deposited on the same day of registration through Net banking. The fees can be deposited till the next two days of registration through off line mode through system generated fee payment challan at any branch of Indian Bank.
Special Note: In the event of selection, the candidate shall serve in Government Primary Health Centers for a period of not less than three years excluding any period spent on training, leave or higher education. Successful candidate shall join duty within 30 days the date of receipt of appointment orders.
