North East-Frontier Railway, invites applications from talented, committed and outstanding sportspersons to join the Indian Railways in various cadres. Talented candidates fulfilling all criteria for under-mentioned games/ events [Basketball, Cricket, Athletics, Volleyball, Tennis, Boxing, Weightlifting, and Table Tennis], can apply within the specified period with copies of all relevant documents, in the prescribed format of application.
These vacancies are exclusively to be filled up from competent Sportspersons under the quota system in merit basis. The details of the vacancies and the eligibility criteria thereof are mentioned as under:

Pay Scale:
Level- 2 OR Level- 3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission

Academics:
Candidates must passed Intermediate/ 10+2 or its equivalent qualification from a recognised board. For Technician Posts candidates must Candidates must passed Matriculation/ 10th exam (In this case, training period of such appointees would be of three years) OR Possess ITI in relevant trade (In this case, training period of such appointees would be of six months).
Age Criteria: The applying candidate must have obtained minimum 18 years of age and should not have exceeded 25 years of age as on 01-January-2023. There is no relaxation in upper age for any categories and these recruitment are being done for a special Sports Sub-category.
Sports Eligibility:
For Level- 2 OR Level- 3 of Pay Matrix: The candidates must have represented the Country in any of the Category-B championships/events OR At least 3rd position in any of the Category-C championships/ events OR At least 3rd position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships OR At least 3rd position in National Games organized under the aegis of Indian Olympic Association OR At least 3rd position in All India Inter University Championships organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities OR 1st position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category).
Period of Reckoning Sports Achievement: The applicants must have achieved their Sports Criteria on or after 01-April-2020 (2 recent years).
Application Fee:
For candidates belonging to SC/ST/Ex. Servicemen/Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Women, Minorities and Economic Backward Classes: Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty) only with a provision for refunding the same to those who actually appear in the written examination.
For All Others: Rs.500/-
The candidates can remit the fees through IPO in favour of “ PFA/NF Railway, and payable at Maligaon Post Office, Guwahati – 781011. Candidates must write their names & full address in the IPO.
Selection Procedure: The selection procedure will consist of field trials, assessment of sports achievements and general intelligence/ personality etc. The candidates who are found fit in trial will only be considered for next stage of recruitment process.

The application must be typed or computer printed on one side of a Good quality A4 size 85 GSM paper on single side only. The applicant need to fill the form in his own handwriting only. The signature and photograph must be placed appropriately. The candidates must use blue/ black ball point pen to fill up the application. The application must be filled up either in Hindi or in English.
The application completed in all respect and attached with all requisite documents (properly attested), must be secured in an envelope super-scribed as “RECRUITMENT AGAINST SPORTS QUOTA:: EVENT – …………………………” and should be submitted by hand/ ordinary post to the address mentioned in the detailed advertisement (as below):
