The Call up Letters cum Admit Card will be tentatively uploaded on website by End January, 2019
Results of the online examination will be announced tentatively after 30 days. Approximately 1600 candidates will be called for PFT and Preliminary Recruitment Medical Examination. A State wise merit list will be prepared of all qualified candidates based upon the vacancies of the respective State.
Academic Qualification & Job Responsibility:
- Chef (Matric Recruit): An applicant must possess Matriculation (10th standard). They would be required to prepare food as per menu (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian including handling of meat products) and accounting of ration. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties as per Service requirement.
- Steward (Matric Recruit): An applicant must possess Matriculation (10th standard). They would be required to serve food in the officers‟ messes, as waiters, housekeeping, accounting of funds, wine and stores, preparation of menu etc. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties as per Service requirement.
- Hygienist (Matric Recruit): An applicant must possess Matriculation (10th standard). They will be required to clean toilets and other areas. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties as per Service requirement.
Date of Birth: The Candidates should be born between 01 Oct 1998 to 30 Sep 2002 (Both dates inclusive).
Salary, Emoluments and Pay Structure: During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be admissible. On successful completion of initial training, they will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹ 21,700- ₹69,100). In addition, they will be paid MSP @ ₹ 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable).
Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I, i.e. Level 8 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹ 47,600- ₹ 1,51,100) plus MSP @ ₹ 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable).
Selection Norms: The selection of aspirants will be done on a national merit basis with a Written Test followed by Trade Test and Physical Fitness Test conducted by a Medical team of Indian Navy.
Physical Fitness Test: The candidates have to undergo a Physical Fitness Test where qualification is mandatory for further stages of selection.
Medical Standards: The candidates will have to undergo a medical standard test where the minimum height, weight, chest, and eyesight will be tested to the level of requirement in armed service as defined by Indian Navy. The candidates are advised to clean their ear for wax and teeth for tartar before applying for this test.
Final Enrollment Medical: The candidates selected for recruitment have to undergo final Enrollment Medical at INS Chilka prior to their recruitment. Any person declared “Unfit” in this final enrollment medical will not be allowed to join and his candidature will be dimmed as disqualified.
Training and Preliminary Engagement: The training for the course will commence in October 2019, with 15 weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments. Branch/ Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of Service. The initial engagement after successful completion of training will be for 15 years in Indian Navy.
Exam Fee: Candidates (except SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 205/- through online mode by using net banking or by using Visa/ Master/ RuPay Credit/ Debit Card/ UPI
