With the recent announcement, the Indian Coast Guard – Eastern Region, Chennai is inviting applications from the Indian Nationals for recruitment for various posts. The details are as mentioned below:

  1. Chargeman- Grade-II – Number of Posts – 01 post (SC)Academics – A Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical or Marine  or Electronics  Engineering from a  recognised  university or Board or equivalent – Experience – One year experience in the field of hull repair or general engineering and / or in electrical or electronics trades – Pay Scale –  Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 and Grade Pay of Rs.4200 – Max Age – 27 years
  2. Store Keeper– Number of Posts – 01 post (UR)Academics – Bachelors Degree in any discipline – Experience – Three years experience in handling stores and keeping accounts in a store of a Govt Department or PSU – Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.2400 – Max Age – 18-27 years
  3. Assistant Store Keeper– Number of Posts – 02 posts (UR-01, SC-01)Academics – Matriculation or equivalent – Experience – One year experience in handling stores and keeping accounts in a store of a Govt Department or PSU – Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1900 – Max Age – 18-27 years
  4. Civilian Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade)– Number of Posts – 03 posts (UR-02, ST-01)Academics – Matriculation or equivalent & must have a valid Driving license – Experience – Two year experience in driving motor vehicles and should be able to fix minor errors in mechanism – Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1900 – Max Age – 18-27 years
  5. Engine Driver– Number of Posts – 01 posts (ST)Academics – Matriculation or equivalent & must have a Certificate of competency as Engine Driver from a recognised Government Institute or equivalent – Experience – Two years service as Sarang on a vessel of over four hundred Boat Horse Power – Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.2400 – Max Age – 18-30 years
  6. Sarang Laskar– Number of Posts – 04 posts (UR-03, OBC-01)Academics – Matriculation or equivalent & must have a Certificate of competency as Sarang from a recognised Government Institute or equivalent – Experience – Two years service as Sarang-in-Charge on a vessel of over two hundred Boat Horse Power – Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1900 – Max Age – 18-30 years
  7. Fireman– Number of Posts – 02 posts (UR)Academics – Matriculation or equivalent & must be physically fit to do strenuous duties –Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1900 – Max Age – 18-27 years
  8. Ice Fitter (Skilled)– Number of Posts – 05 posts (UR-03, Sc-01, ST-01)Academics – Matriculation or equivalent & should have completed training course in the relevant trade from an ITI and should have completed apprenticeship training (4 years experience is required in concerned trades where training is not available)  –Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1900 – Max Age – 18-27 years
  9. Electrical Fitter (Skilled)– Number of Posts – 01 posts (UR)Academics – Matriculation or equivalent & should have completed training course in the relevant trade from an ITI and should have completed apprenticeship training (4 years experience is required in concerned trades where training is not available)  –Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1900 – Max Age – 18-27 years

10. Machinist (Skilled)– Number of Posts – 02 posts (UR)Academics – Matriculation or equivalent & should have completed training course in the relevant trade from an ITI and should have completed apprenticeship training (4 years experience is required in concerned trades where training is not available)  –Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1900 – Max Age – 18-27 years

11. Carpenter (Skilled)– Number of Posts – 01 posts (UR & PH)Academics – Matriculation or equivalent & should have completed training course in the relevant trade from an ITI and should have completed apprenticeship training (4 years experience is required in concerned trades where training is not available)  –Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1900 – Max Age – 18-27 years

12. Painter (Skilled)– Number of Posts – 01 posts (UR)Academics – Matriculation or equivalent & should have completed training course in the relevant trade from an ITI and should have completed apprenticeship training (4 years experience is required in concerned trades where training is not available)  –Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1900 – Max Age – 18-27 years

13. MTS (Gestetner Operator)– Number of Posts – 01 posts (UR)Academics – Matriculation or equivalent – Experience – Two years experience as office attendant  – Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1800 – Max Age – 18-27 years

14. MTS (Daftry)– Number of Posts – 01 posts (UR)Academics – Matriculation or equivalent – Experience – Two years experience as office attendant  – Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1800 – Max Age – 18-27 years

26. MTS (Carpenter (Semi-Skilled))– Number of Posts – 01 post (UR)Academics – Matriculation and ITI or equivalent – Experience – Three years experience in relevant trade – Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1800 – Max Age – 18-27 years

27. MTS (Welder (Semi-Skilled))– Number of Posts – 01 post (UR)Academics – Matriculation and ITI or equivalent – Experience – Three years experience in relevant trade – Pay Scale –  Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 and Grade Pay of Rs.1800 – Max Age – 18-27 years

  • MTS is the abbreviation used for Multi Tasking Staff.
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per rules for privileged categories

Selection procedure : Short listed candidates only will be called for Written Test / Interview / Trade Test (Practical). The decision of the Commander / District Commander regarding selection / rejection of application is final and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
