Indian Bank Recruitment 2014-15 For 251 Specialist Officers

Established in the year 1907, Indian Bank has been formed out of the Swadeshi Movement by a group of Indians. With the growth and globalization this bank has been considered as one of the most successful banking institutions among all the nationalized banks. Presently with its dynamic services this bank has truly become a bank for Indians.

With its recent notification, Indian Bank invites applications from eligible candidates, for 251 various vacancies of Specialist Officers in Scale-I, II, III & IV. The details of the vacancies and the eligibility criteria thereof are mentioned as under:

Important dates to reckon for:

  • Starting date for online e-registration: 16-July-2014
  • Closing date for Online e-registration: 30-July-2014
  • Remittance of application fees: In between the above two dates
  • Last Date for editing Applications (if required): 30-July-2014

Name of the vacancies notified: 251 Positions

  1. Assistant Manager (Industries) – Grade-I: 67 positions

Total JMGS-I: 67 Posts (UR-34, OBC-18, SC-10, ST-05)

  1. Manager (Credit, Risk, HR & Marketing) – Grade-II: 90 positions
  2. Manager (Treasury, Financial Products/ Services) – Grade-II: 40 positions
  3. Manager (Planning & Economist) – Grade-II: 18 positions
  4. Manager (Security) – Grade-II: 11 positions
  5. Manager (Cost Accountant) – Grade-II: 02 positions
  6. Manager (Corporate Communications) – Grade-II: 02 positions

Total MMGS-II: 163 Posts (UR-83, OBC-44, SC-24, ST-12)

  1. Senior Manager (Treasury)-Grade-III: 04 Positions
  2. Senior Manager (Risk Management)-Grade-III: 03 Positions

Total MMGS-III: 07 Posts (UR-05, OBC-01, SC-01)

  1. Chief Manager (Credit)-Grade-IV: 10 Positions
  2. Chief Manager (Economist)-Grade-IV: 02 Positions
  3. Chief Manager (Chartered Accountant)-Grade-IV: 01 Position
  4. Chief Manager (Risk Management)-Grade-IV: 01 Position

Total SMGS-IV: 14 Posts (UR-07, OBC-03, SC-03, OBC-01)

NOTE:

  • Reservation for privileged category such as SC, ST, OBC and PWD categories will be applicable as per rules of the bank.
  • The applicants can apply for only one of the above positions.

Pay Scale:

  • Scale-IV: The applicants selected for these positions will receive a remuneration in the scale of Rs.30600- Rs.36200 along with applicable allowances and perks.
  • Scale-III: The applicants selected for these positions will receive a remuneration in the scale of Rs.25700- Rs.31500 along with applicable allowances and perks.
  • Scale-II: The applicants selected for these positions will receive a remuneration in the scale of Rs.19400- Rs.28100 along with applicable allowances and perks.
  • Scale-I: The applicants selected for these positions will receive a remuneration in the scale of Rs.14500- Rs.25700 along with applicable allowances and perks.

Period of Probation:

  • The candidates selected as Specialist Officers in JMG Scale-I will have to serve the bank for a period of 24 Months (2 years) from the date of joining.
  • The candidates selected as Specialist Officers in MMG Scale-II and above will have to serve the bank for a period of 12 Months (1 year) from the date of joining.

Service Bond:

  • The selected candidates as Specialist Officers will be required to execute a Service Bond undertaking to serve the Bank for a period of 2 years or to pay the Bank a sum of Rs.100000.00 + the salary of un-served notice period in case he/ she leaves the Bank before the completion of the 2 years service period.

Age: (As on 01-Jan-2014)

  • Scale-IV: The applicant must have achieved Minimum of 21 years and should not have crossed Maximum age of 40 years to become eligible to apply.
  • Scale-III: The applicant must have achieved Minimum of 21 years and should not have crossed Maximum age of 40 years to become eligible to apply.
  • Scale-II (Except Manager Security): The applicant must have achieved Minimum of 21 years and should not have crossed Maximum age of 35 years to become eligible to apply.
  • Manager Security (Scale-II): The applicant must have achieved Minimum of 25 years and should not have crossed Maximum age of 40 years to become eligible to apply.
  • Scale-I: The applicant must have achieved Minimum of 21 years and should not have crossed Maximum age of 30 years to become eligible to apply.
  • However, relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable as per rules for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-SM categories

Academics Qualification: (As on 31-Dec-2013)

  • Assistant Manager (Industries) – Grade-I: A candidate should have completed BE/BTech in Electrical & Electronics/ Mechanical/ Production/ Textile/ Chemical engineering with 1st Class or equivalent CGPA.
  • Manager (Credit, Risk, HR & Marketing) – Grade-II: A candidate should have completed 2 years full-time PG-Degree or PG-Diploma in Management from a reputed institute like IIM, XLRI etc. or must be a Certified Financial Analyst.
  • Manager (Treasury, Financial Products/ Services) – Grade-II: A candidate should have completed 2 years full-time Post-Graduate qualification in Management (Banking & Financial Services/ Banking Management/ Banking Technology) or must be a Certified Financial Analyst.
  • Manager (Planning & Economist) – Grade-II: A candidate should have completed 2 years full-time Post-Graduate qualification in Economics (Mathematics and Statistics) or Econometrics or MSc (Statistics). Must have minimum 2 years experience in relevant discipline.
  • Manager (Security) – Grade-II: A candidate should be a Graduate Degree holder in any discipline. The applicant must possess a minimum of 5 years of working experience as an officer in Indian Army, Navy or Air Force in Junior Commissioned Officer rank OR such rank in para-military services.
  • Manager (Cost Accountant) – Grade-II: A candidate should be a qualified and certified Cost Accountant from Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
  • Manager (Corporate Communications) – Grade-II: A candidate should have completed 2 years full-time Masters Degree in Journalism & Mass Communication in 1st Class or equivalent CGPA. Must have minimum 2 years experience in relevant discipline.
  • Senior Manager (Treasury)-Grade-III: A candidate should be a 1st Class MBA Degree holder or a Certified Chartered Accountant or a Cost Accountant or a Certified Financial Analyst. Must have at least 3 years experience in Rupee Trading/ Forex Trading or Domestic Trading as a Dealer.
  • Senior Manager (Risk Management)-Grade-III: A candidate should be a 1st Class MBA Degree holder in Finance with Risk Management or a Certified Chartered Accountant or a Certified Financial Analyst. Must have at least 3 years experience in relevant area.
  • Chief Manager (Credit)-Grade-IV: A candidate should be a 1st Class MBA/ PGDBA/ PGDBM holder in Finance or a Certified Chartered Accountant or a Certified Financial Analyst. Must have at least 5 years experience in relevant areas of Project Appraisal/ Corporate Credit in Banking/ Financial sector.
  • Chief Manager (Economist)-Grade-IV: A candidate should have a masters Degree in Economics or Econometrics. Preference will be given to candidates having MPhil or PhD in the respective disciplines. Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience in Analyzing Economic Trends or Economic Data Forecasting.
  • Chief Manager (Chartered Accountant)-Grade-IV: A candidate should have a Bachelors Degree with qualification as a Chartered Accountant from ICAI. Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience in Banking and Financial Institution.
  • Chief Manager (Risk Management)-Grade-IV: A candidate should be a 1st Class MBA Degree holder in Finance with Risk Management or a Certified Chartered Accountant or a Certified Financial Analyst. Preference will be offered to PRM/FRM. Must have at least 5 years experience in relevant area.

Application Fee:

  • For SC/ST/PWD: Rs.50 only (as postal charges)
  • For all others: Rs.550 only (as Application fee and postal charges)
  • The fee can be remitted through online only through NEFT/ CBS at any of the Branches of Indian Bank as detailed in the Bank’s website at http://www.indianbank.in/career.php .
  • No other mode of fee payment except through Online Mode will be accepted.

Selection Procedure:

  • The selection will be made on the basis of performance in Written Test, Physical and Psychometric Test and Personal Interview. Merit list of the candidates for final selection will be prepared considering the performance of the candidates.
  • The name of the selected candidates will be announced by the bank in due course through successive stages of selection.

  • Prior to submission of application the candidates are advised to read through the details of the advertisement as available at the same portal at http://www.indianbank.in/career.php    
  • The applicant need to submit application online and remit requisite fees through the Online Fee Payment option only
  • The candidates need to upload their photograph and signature for final submission of application.
  • The applicant must retain the hard copy of the application and copy of fee payment receipt to be reviewed in subsequent phases of selection
  • Incomplete or wrong information may lead to disqualification of the candidate
  • No other means of application will however be accepted.
