Indian Income Tax Department in India is governed by CBDT, a functioning body under Ministry of Finance, Indian government. Income tax paid by citizens is the prime source of funds used by government in betterment of country.
Applications are invited by Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Bangalore for recruitment of Inspector and Tax Assistant through sports quota.
Nature of The Post:
Recruitment will be purely temporary in nature for probation period of 2 years. However it is likely to become permanent later.
Total Number of Vacancies:
There are total number of 3 vacancies for post of Income Tax Inspector and 19 vacancies for Tax Assistant.

Eligibility Criteria:
Required educational qualification is:
- Inspector of Income Tax: Bachelor degree from recognised university
- Tax Assistant: Bachelor degree from recognised university along with data entry speed of 8000 key depression per hour.
Sports eligibility required for the post is any meritorious sports person who has represented:
- Country or state at any international or national sports event.
- Participated in inert university tournament.
- Represented in national sports conducted by All India School Games Federation.
- Awarded with National award in Physical Efficiency.
Age Limit:
A person applying for posts of both Inspector and Tax Assistant should be between 18 and 27 years as on 30-06-2012. Relaxation of 5 years to OBC category and 10 years to SC/ ST category will be offered as per government instructions.
Pay Scale:
Pay scale for Inspector of Income Tax is: Rs. 9300 – Rs. 34800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 4600
And for Tax Assistant is: Rs. 5200 – Rs. 20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 2400
Selection Process:
Candidates will be selected on the basis of Ground Test, Written Test, Interview and Data Entry Test for Tax Assistants. Recruitment will purely be made on the basis of merit.
