Important Dates:
Starting Date for Online Registration: 05-June-2016
Last Date for Online Registration: 01-July-2016
Date of NET Examination: 01-August-2016, and 06-August-2016
Academic Requirements: The candidates interested for the NET 2016 must have secured a Masters Degree in concerned branches of Agricultural Science on or before 1st of August 2016. Age Requirement: The applicant must have attended the age of 21 years by 1st August 2016. However, there will be no upper age limit for appearing in NET 2016.
Application Fees: Online Mode
For SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates: Rs.250/-
For OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category candidates: Rs.500/-
For General Candidates: Rs.1000/-
How to Pay the Application Fees: The fees can be paid through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ NEFT from any Bank. Candidates can also pay the application fee through online generated payment challan in any of the branches of the Syndicate Bank.
Number of Attempts: Any competent candidate having requisite qualification standards can apply for a maximum of five times for NET, including the in-service candidates of ICAR. However, this restriction will not apply to SC and ST candidates, who are otherwise eligible.
The number of attempts made by the candidates prior to National Eligibility Test Examination 2012 will not be taken into account for counting the number of attempts made.
Mode of Selection: The candidates appearing for the NET 2016 will be selected on the basis of their performance through a Written Examination (There will be one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions). The minimum pass mark for General candidates is set at 50%, OBC(Non-Creamy layer) candidates is set to 45%, where as that for the SC/ ST and OBC persons is maintained at 40%. There will be 1/3 marks of negative marking for each wrong answer in the NET-2016. For written examination the question papers will be available in either in English or in Hindi.
