Indian Navy announced to intake young unmarried Indians as Sailors for Artificer Apprentice (AA) in Indian Navy. This will be a part of recruitment procedure for Artificer Apprentice (AA) for the 141st batch, which is scheduled to start on February, 2017. Commencement of Course in Indian Navy (141st Batch): February, 2017
Educational Eligibility: An applicant must has passed Intermediate Science in the 10+2 system of education with 60% or more marks in aggregate with Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one subject from Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Biology.
Age Related Eligibility: The candidates applying for Sailors in Indian Navy under Artificer Apprentice (AA) Scheme must have been born in between 01-February-1997 to 31-January-2000 (both days are included for consideration).
Salary, Emoluments and Pay Structure: The sailors will be eligible to receive a grade pay in the scale of Rs.5200-20200/-. In addition to basic pay they will be entitled to receive grade pay of Rs.2000/- + MSP allowance of Rs.2000/- + Group Pay of Rs.1400/- and DA as per norms.
The candidates who join as an Artificer Apprentice will also be eligible for promotion and can be promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer with a grade pay of Rs.9300-34800/- with grade pay of Rs.4800/- and other allowances as per norms.
The selected candidates will also be eligible for Perquisites as per the Naval Norms and they can get free books, accommodation, uniform, and fooding. Apart from that they will also be entitled to receive facilities such as Medical for self and family, Leave travel concession, Group housing scheme, annual and casual leave, post retirement benefits, children education etc as regulated as per government orders for Force.
Selection Norms: The selection of aspirants will be done on a national merit basis with a written test followed by Physical Fitness Test conducted by a Medical Team of Indian Navy.
Written Test: The Written test will be conducted in Bi-Lingual (English and Hindi) mode. The question paper will consists of questions from English, Mathematics, Science and General Knowledge. The questions will follow 10+2 level of knowledge and pattern. Duration of examination will be one hour. The candidates have to pass in all subjects as well as in over all consideration.
Physical Fitness Test: The candidates have to undergo a Physical Fitness Test where qualification is mandatory for further stages of selection. PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat-ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Indian navy will not be responsible for any mishaps during PFT.
Medical Standards:
The candidates will have to undergo a medical standard test where the minimum height, weight, chest, and eyesight will be tested to the level of requirement in armed service as defined by Indian Navy both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions as per Navy Order (Special) 01/2008. The candidates are advised to clean their ear for wax and teeth for tartar before applying for this test.
Final Enrollment Medical: The candidates selected for recruitment have to undergo final Enrollment Medical at INS Chilka prior to their recruitment. Any person declared “Unfit” in this final enrollment medical will not be allowed to join and his candidature will be dimmed as disqualified.
Training and Preliminary Engagement: The training for the course will commence in February, 2017, with 09 weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments. Branch / Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of Service. The initial engagement after successful completion of training will be for 20 years in Indian Navy.
