WBPSC Recruitment Advertisement No. 11/2017- The Public Service Commission, West Bengal will hold the English Reporters Recruitment Examination, 2017 in accordance with the existing rules for recruitment to the posts in English Reporter under the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Secretariat.

Commencement of Submission of Online Application: 25-April-2017
Last Date for Submission of Online Application: 15-May-2015
Last Date for Submission of Fees Through Online Mode: 15-May-2016
Last Date for Submission of Fees Through Offline Mode: 16-May-2016 [However, the Challan must be generated by the 15th May, 2017]
Date of Part I Exam (English Paper of 100 marks): August, 2017
Academics: An applicant must have a bachelor’s degree with English as one of the combination subjects in the degree course from a recognised University and speed in English Shorthand and Typing 140 and 40 words per minute respectively.
Candidates must have the ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required in the case of Nepali).
Upper Age Limit: 36 years as on 01-January-2017. Relaxation in upper age limit will be as per rules for SC, ST, BC categories from West Bengal. SC, ST and BC candidates of other States may apply for unreserved vacancies as General candidates.
Pay Scale and Remunerations: The selected candidates will be eligible for a Pay scale of Rs.15600-Rs.42000/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/- along with permissible allowances and perks.

Application Fee: Rs.210/-
Rs.210/- + Service Charge 1% of Examination Fee subject to a minimum of Rs.5/- for online payment through debit/credit card plus 12.36% of service charge as Govt. Duty or Service Charge of Rs.5/- (Rupees Five) only for Net Banking or Service Charge of Rs.20/- (Rupees Twenty) only for payment through Bank Counter (off-line payment).
SC/ ST candidates of West Bengal, are not required to pay any fee.
Selection Procedure: The selection will be on the basis of performance in the examination conducted in two phases Part I: English Paper of 100 marks; Part II: Typing of 100 marks, Dictation and Transcription of 200 marks, and Personality Test of 100 marks; followed by personality test.
