TNSET 2018 Notification For Assistant Professor, Exam Date, Subjects, Syllabus, Admit Card, Result- On behalf of UGC, Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal (MTWU), Tamil Nadu announces holding of the State Eligibility Test (TNSET 2018) on 04-March-2018, for determining the eligibility for Assistant Professor in Tamil Nadu universities and colleges. Candidates shall appear for TNSET 2018 examination in their relevant subject of their post graduation only.
TNSET 2018 will consist of three papers (Paper-1 of 100 marks, Paper-2 of 100 marks, and paper-3 of 150 marks) of objective type questions, in three separate sessions.
Paper- I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the Candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the Candidate. 50 Multiple Choice Questions, each Question will carry 2 Marks.
Paper- II shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the Candidate.
Paper- III will consist of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the Candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.
Candidates are required to secure minimum marks separately in Paper-I (40 marks for general candidates and 35 marks for reserved category candidates), Paper-II (40 marks for general candidates and 35 marks for reserved category candidates), and Paper–III (75 marks for general candidates and 60 marks for reserved category candidates); to be eligible for Assistant Professor in Tamil Nadu universities and colleges.

Eligibility Norms-
Qualification: Candidates must have secured minimum 55% of marks for General category [50% in case candidates belonging to Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes (MBC)/ Denotified Communities (DNC)/ Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PWD-VH/PH)] in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognized by UGC.
Candidates who have appeared for final year examination and still awaited for result, may also appear for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and for those who clear the TNSET 2018 examination will have to qualify within two years from the date of TNSET 2018 Examination, failing which they will be treated as disqualified.
The Ph.D. Degree holders whose Master’s Degree completed on or before 19-September-1991 shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% marks for appearing in TNSET 2018 examination.
Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for applying for TNSET 2018 examination.
Examination Fee:
Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PWD-VI,HI,PH candidates
Rs. 1250/- for BC/ M BC/ DNC category candidates
Rs. 1500/- for General category candidates
