WBPSC Advertisement No 26/2017- Public Service Commission, West Bengal invites applications from interested and eligible candidates for recruitment of Senior Scientific Officer, BALLISTICS DIVISION AT THE Forensic Science Laboratory, West Bengal, UNDER THE HOME AND HILL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT, POLICE ESTABLISHMENT BRANCH, GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL.
Senior Scientific Officer: 03 Vacancies, in the scale of pay Rs.15, 600/- – Rs. 42,000/- (Pay Band 4A) plus Grade pay of Rs. 5, 400/- and allowances as admissible

Eligibility Criteria- Candidates must possess Master’s Degree in Physics/ Mathematics from a recognized University or equivalent with second class. Candidates should have five years experience of analytical methods and research. OR
Possess Degree in Science with Physics/ Mathematics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or equivalent and seven years experience in Forensic Ballistics.
Candidates having work experience in Forensic Science Laboratory will get preferred.
Upper Age Limit: 36 years as on 01-January-2017. However, relaxation in upper age limit as per government orders.
Application Fee: Rs. 210/- plus
(i) For online payment through debit/credit cards: Convenience fee 1% of the examination fee subject to a minimum of Rs. 5/- (Rupees Five) only plus 18% G.S.T. on convenience fee.
(ii) For online payment through net banking: Convenience fee of Rs. 5/- (Rupees Five) only plus 18% G.S.T. on convenience fee.
(iii) For offline payment through bank counter: Service Charge of Rs. 20/- (Rupees Twenty) only.
SC/ ST candidates of West Bengal, and Persons with disabilities (PWD) having physical disability of 40% and above are not required to pay any fee.
How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates are suggested to apply online only through official website of West Bengal Public Service Commission, www.pscwbonline.gov.in. Candidates have to first go for “One Time Registration”, and fill up all the required data and uploading scanned photo and signature to get User ID and Password. However, those candidates who have earlier registered themselves with PSC, West Bengal need not register once again. They can use their previous User Id and Password for login into their respective Dashboards. After login into the Dashboard, candidates has to find the name of the Examination and Apply Online.
