Name of Post: Staff selection commission of Odisha has issued the notification for the post of Technical Assistant (Contractual) under Director, Textiles and Handloom.
Total Number of Vacancies: A total number of 13 vacancies have been issued by the textile and handloom department.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidate should have passed his higher secondary education followed by one and a half year of training weaving, handloom and designing from Institute of Handloom, Weaving and Design, Khurda or from Nuapatna and Sonepur. One must have Odia as a subject in HSC exams.
Age Limit:
Candidate should be minimum 20 years of age and maximum 32 years as on 01-01-2012. Age relaxation of 5 years will be offered to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/women category.
Pay Scale: This post is offered with the pay scale of Rs. 5200 per month.
Application Fee & How to:
One must deposit a fee of Rs. 100 through treasury Challan made under Head of account “0051-P.S.C.-104-UPSC/SSC-Examination Fees-0047-Fees Collected for conducting examination-02041-Examination fees”.
Candidate is needed to log on to the official website with all the information required to be fill in the application. Treasury Challan number is also required to be filled in online application for successful submission.
Selection Process:
Selection of an individual will be made based on the performance in written test of English and Odia language which will comprise of 25 questions for each language. Another section will consist of Handloom weaving and design which will comprise of 100 questions. There will be objective type questions based on computer aided handloom, handloom economics and management, weaving mechanism, fabric structure and cloth mechanism, textile chemistry and tie and dye technology etc. These tests will be followed by a viva voce test which will comprise of 15 marks.

One must to go to the official website www.odishassc.in and fill the application form along with the correct treasury Challan number. After completion candidate has to submit the printout of application along with original treasury, attested copies of caste certificate. HSC certificate, date of birth proof, sports identity card and one passport size photograph.
