For Constables in Indian Reserve (IR) Battalion: Applications are invited from the eligible intending candidates to fill up of 1722 posts of Civil Constables in the following Districts/ Establishments.
Pay Scale Provisions: The selected applicants will be eligible for a Pay Scale in PB-I with Rs.5200-Rs.20200 and a Grade Pay of Rs.2000 along with other perks and remunerations.
Registration in Employment Exchange: The applicants must have registered his/ her name in any one of the Employment Exchanges of the concerned district (for which he/she applies) before publication of the advertisement for recruitment.
Academic Requirements:
Civil Constables in Districts/ Establishments- Candidate must have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha or by any other recognized Board/ Council. A candidate should be able to speak, read and write Odia and must have passed Odia as one of the subjects in the High School Certificate Examination or an examination in Odla Language equivalent to M.E standard, recognized or conducted by the School and Mass Education Department of Government of Odisha.
Sepoys/ Constables in Battalions– The candidates need to have completed 10th Standard (High School Certificate exam) along with the prescribed Physical Standard to eligible for consideration. The candidates should be able to read, write and speak Odia language. They should have passed ME standard (7th Class) in Odia language.
Age Limit: The age of the candidates should not be less than 18 years and more than 23 years as on 01.01.2018 (upper age relaxation in case of SC, ST & SEBC candidates is up to 5 years), The age limit for Ex-Servicemen shall be relaxed as per Government Rules.
Examination Fee:
All applicants other than those belonging to the SC and ST category are required to pay Examination Fees of Rs. 150/- in shape of Bank Draft/ Postal Order. The Bank Draft/Postal Order (Payable in favour of Commandant (Name of the Battalion), Payable at (Location of the Battalion)) should be sent to the concerned address, as applicable to the applicant.
Mode of Selection: The selection of candidates will be done through the following stages at the concerned selection grounds:

How to Apply: The candidates can apply through prescribed format of application as available at the website of The State Selection Board for Odisha Police.
All the candidates irrespective of categories have to pay Rs. 50/- in ihe shape of Bank Draft/ Postal Order towards cost of application form in the concerned Battalion. Apart from this, the application form may be downloaded from the website www.odisha.gov.in, www.odishapolice.gov.in, www.opssb.nic.in
The candidates who have downloaded the application form from the website shall also pay Rs. 50/- in the shape of Bank Draft/ Postal Order towards cost of application form in the concerned Battalion where they intend to apply. The Bank Draft/ Postal Order will be in favour of the concerned Commandant of the Battalion/DCP (Security) of of Spl. Security Battalion.
The application form along with Bank Draft/ Postal Order and photo copies of self attested certificates/ relevant documents should be sent to the concerned Commandant of the Battalion/ DCP(Security) of Spl. Security Battalion through post or to be deposited by hand at the concerned Battalion.
Note: The applicant should note that the filled in application forms should be addressed to the Commandant 7th I.R. (Spl.) Battalion, Koraput or Commandant, 8th I.R. (Spl.) Battalion, Bhanjanagar or Commandant 9th I.R. (Spl.) Battalion, Kalahandi (camp at Cuttack) depending on where the applicant intends to appear in the recruitment for the posts available in these Battalions. The applicants may write about the post they are applying for on the top of the envelope in case of postal applications. Example:- “Application form for the post of Constable in 7th I.R, Bn., Koraput.”
