National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) Limited invites applications from eligible candidates having domicile of Himachal Pradesh for one year apprenticeship training for the session 2018-19, under apprentice act, 1961 in various trades. Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit.
Electrical/ Mechanical: 06 Positions
Information Technology: 05 Positions
Qualification: Candidates must possess regular Diploma course in relevant trade.
Electrician/ Welder/ Fitter/ Mechanic- 15 Positions
Stenographer- 10 Positions
Fireman- 05 Positions
Qualification: Candidates must have passed Matriculation, and possess ITI in relevant trade.
Last Date for Submission of Application: 22-February-2018
Duration of Training: One Year
Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum 30 years as on 28-July-2017. However, relaxation in upper age limit applicable as per rules.

An Indian electrical utilities company NHPC formerly known as National Hydroelectric Power Corporation was established in 1975. The company has an authorized capital of about Rs. 2000 Million. It incorporates the objective of planning, promoting and organizing an efficient and integrated hydroelectric power development. NHPC is entitled with Miniratna category- I enterprise with a capital of Rs. 1, 50, 000 Million under government of India. It is rated among the top ten countries involved in investments in India. Apart from development of hydroelectric powers in all aspects NHPC has also included the expansion into other energies like tidal, geothermal and wind etc.
NHPC is a public limited company which is listed with both Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange. The very first project undertaken by NHPC was Baira Suil Power Station in Salooni Tehsil of Chamba.
Presently NHPC is engaged in the construction of 5 projects aggregating to a total installed capacity of 4290 MW including 1000 MW (Pakal Dul HE Project) being executed through JV Company. 10 projects of 7151 MW are awaiting clearances/ Government approval for their implementation including 3 Projects of 1186 MW to be executed through Subsidiary/ Joint Venture Companies.
With its vast range of network all over the country NHPC requires talented and hardworking candidates who can help to enhance the productivity of plants developed by the company. A number of candidates have been recruited every year in order to maintain an efficient staff. Various jobs are offered by the company through printed media and other resources to invite interested candidates and take entrance tests for recruitments. Some of the vacancies that are issued by NHPC are trainee engineer in Civil / Mechanical/ Electrical, trainee officer in Geology, trainee officer in environment, public relations, law and human resource. In order to apply for these posts candidate must possess sufficient educational qualification for the related post. For technical posts of higher grade candidate should have a degree of engineering in electrical, mechanical or respective discipline of engineering. However for posts in public relations a qualification of post graduation with diploma in mass communication, communication and journalism is required while graduate degree in law and post graduate degree or MBA in personnel management is required for posts in public relations and human resource respectively.
