Meghalaya Police Recruitment 2012 – Opportunities Galore For Natives Of Meghalaya In Armed Force

Commissioned as the maintainer of law and order in the state, there has been a galore of opportunities for the domiciles of Meghalaya for induction into following 3 categories of posts in the Meghalaya Police Force.

Important Dates:

• Starting date of availability of application form: 15^th of October 2012
• Last date for receipt of Application form: 15^th of November 2012

The details of the vacancies and the requisite criteria for application is detailed as follows:

Category-wise Recruitment Details:

Category-1:

Armed Band Group:

Pay band –

• For Matriculates – Rs.8300-Rs.16270
• For Non matriculates (Class IX Passed) – Rs.7700-Rs.15020 plus other allowances as admissible

Vacancies:

• Armed Branch Constables – 258 posts
• State Battalion Constables & IRBN Constables  – 170 posts
• Handyman Constables – 8 posts
• Rider Constables – 2 posts
• MPRO (General Duty) Constables – 5 posts
• Mechanics – 1 posts
• Driver Constables – 59 posts

NOTE: There will be reservation for domiciles of Meghalaya as per rules

Academic requirement :

The candidates applying for this post must have been passed at least 9^th standard from any recognized board.

Category-2:

Unarmed Band Group:

Pay band –

• The candidates selected for this branch of service will be eligible to receive a remuneration in the scale of Rs.8300-Rs.16270 plus other allowances as admissible

Vacancies:

• Unarmed Branch Constables – 598 posts
• Firemen – 15 posts
• Driver Firemen – 3 posts
• MPRO Operator Constables – 60 posts
• Signals Operators of IRBN – 63 posts

NOTE: There will be reservation for domiciles of Meghalaya as per rules

Academic requirement :

The candidates applying for this post must have been passed at least 10+2 standard from any recognized board.

Category-3:

Follower Group:

Pay band –

• The candidates selected for this branch of service will be eligible to receive a remuneration in the scale of Rs.6500-Rs.12700 plus other allowances as admissible

Vacancies:

• Followers of DEF/ State Battalions including IRBN – 56 posts

Academic requirement :

The candidates applying for this post must have been passed at least Class-V (fifth) standard from any recognized board.

Age Requirement:

• For category 1 and 2 : Candidates must have been attained a min age of 18 and max age of 21 years
• For Category 3: Candidates must not have crossed a max age of 27 years (minimum age is 18 years)

There will be 5 years of age relaxation in upper age limits for SC/ ST candidates belonging to Meghalaya

Mode of Application and How to Apply:

• The candidates can apply in the prescribed format as provided by the concerned offices
• The candidates can purchase application on payment of Rs.50 at the concerned offices

Important Notification regarding recruitment:

• On the spot temporary admit cards with barcodes and names of candidates and post applied for and dates and venue of recruitment will be given to the applying candidates.
• Recruitment shall take place only at 2nd Battalion, MLP Goeragre and at 1st Battalion, MLP Mawiong for which candidates will have to indicate their choice at the time of applying.
• Dates and venue for personal interviews will be indicated later.

Mode of Selection:

The candidates will be selected on the basis of the following for category 1 and Category 2 of recruitment positions:

1. Physical Efficiency Tests
2. Written Examination
3. Interview

There will be test for special skills for jobs of drivers, mechanics and handyman like posts

Results:

At every stage the performance of the candidates will be daily uploaded in the Meghalaya Police Website at //megpolice.gov.in as well as the notice boards.
