The Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra (FDCM) has been working with the state government to development and preservation of the one of the vital resources of the state – Forest. The FDCM is also responsible for preservation of wild-life and natural flora & fauna of the forest as well as marketing the forest goods so as to provide a sustainable livelihood to the indigenous natives of the Forests of Maharashtra.
With the present announcement, the FDCM invites competent applications for recruitment of 185 vacancies of Forest Guards, Clerk, Drivers, Watchman and Peons to be recruited in various Forest Division of the State.

Cadre of Recruitment (Division-wise):
- North Chandrapur/ South Chandrapur/ Chandrapur District: 130 Posts
- Clerk: 28 Posts (Gen-16, SC-01, ST-07, and remaining for other category of candidates)
- Forest Guards: 77 Posts (Gen-32, SC-13, ST-08, OBC-12 and remaining for other category of candidates)
- Driver: 21 Posts (Gen-08, SC-04, ST-04, OBC-03 and remaining for other category of candidates)
- Chowkidar (Watchman): 02 Posts (SC-01 and other one is for other category)
- Sepoy (Watchman): 02 Posts (Gen-01 and other one reserved for Specially backward community)
- Nagpur and other Forest Zones under this District: 55 Posts
- Clerk: 15 Posts (Gen-06, SC-01, OBC-03, and remaining for other category of candidates)

NOTE: Out of the complete vacancies, there will be 30% reservation or Women, 5% for Project Affected families, 2% for Earthquake affected families, 15% for Ex-Servicemen, 5% for Meritorious Sportspersons, 5% for Home-guards, 10% for Ad-hoc employees and 3% reservation will be applicable for PWD candidates.
Pay Scale Provisions:
- Clerk: The candidates selected for these positions will receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1900 under PB-I
- Forest Guards: The candidates selected for these positions will receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1800 under PB-I
- Lower Grade Stenographer: The candidates selected for these positions will receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.9300 – Rs.34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4300 under PB-II
- Driver: The candidates selected for these positions will receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1900 under PB-I
- Chowkidar (Watchman): The candidates selected for these positions will receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.4440 – Rs.7440 with Grade Pay of Rs.1300 under Grade-IV
- Sepoy (Watchman): The candidates selected for these positions will receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.4440 – Rs.7440 with Grade Pay of Rs.1300 under Grade-IV
- Other allowances and perks will be applicable as per norms of FDCM
Age Specific Norms:
- Forest Guards: The applicants must not have crossed 25 years and should be above 18 years of age as on 01-July-2014.
- For all Other Posts: The applicants must not have crossed 33 years and should be above 18 years of age as on 01-July-2014.
- However, there will be relaxation in upper age limit for reserved category of candidates as per rules.
Academics Related Norms:
- Clerk: The applicant must have completed HSSC or its equivalent qualification from a recognized University with at least 50% marks. They must have a minimum speed of 30 words per minute in Marathi Typewriting and 40 words per minute in English Typewriting (They must have possess a certificate in this effect). Also, the candidates should have possessed MSCIT Certificate from DOEACS.
- Driver: The applicant must have completed SSC or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board with at least 50% marks. They must have a valid Driving License for Driving Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) and Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV).
- Forest Guards: The applicant must have completed HSSC or its equivalent qualification from a recognized University with at least 50% marks. They must have studied Marathi as one of the subjects in SSC level or equivalency in Marathi learning (Writing, Reading and Speaking).
- Lower Grade Stenographer: The applicant must have completed Graduation or its equivalent qualification from a recognized University with at least 50% marks. They must have passed Shorthand examination at a speed of 100 words per minute. They must also have a minimum Typewriting speed of 40 words per minute in Marathi Typewriting and 40 words per minute in English Typewriting (They must have possess a certificate in this effect). Also, the candidates should have possessed MSCIT Certificate from DOEACS.
- Sepoy (Watchman): The applicant must have passed 8th Standard of Education from a recognized Board.
- Chowkidar (Watchman): The applicant must have passed 8th Standard of Education from a recognized Board.
- The applicants must have proficiency of Marathi language.
Physical Standard (for Forest Guards only):
- The applicants must have minimum height of 163 cm and weight in proportion to height. They must have Chest measurement of 79cm without expansion and minimum 84 cm with expansion.
Selection Procedure:
- The selection of candidates will be done through a Written Objective Test, Typing Skill Test, Physical Fitness Test and Personal Interview as per the nature of the posts.
- The decision of the Forest Development Corporation, Maharashtra will be Final and Binding on the selection
Application fees:
- For General category: Rs.500
- For reserved category: Rs.250
- The fee can be paid in shape of a Pay Order/ a Demand Draft drawn in favor of respective authorities on any nationalized bank of India.

- The aspirants should take care to fill in all details as indicated by the Application Form, failure of which may subject to rejection of candidature
- After completion of filing the basic detailed of application, the candidates need to Prepare Pay Order or Demand Draft and complete their application with the DD/ PO number.
