Candidates should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE; as a minimum qualification for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher.
The Centralised Admission Cell (CAC), Bangalore is going to conduct the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test KARTET on 27-September-2015 for Primary/ Elementary Stage Teacher.
There will be two papers of KARTET. Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V. Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).
Candidates securing 60% and above marks will be issued Eligibility Certificate. The candidates belonging to SC / ST / C-I, differently abled persons should secure a minimum of 55% will be eligible.
The KARTET shall apply to schools of the Karnataka Government. The Validity Period of KARTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories.
Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Stage
PUC/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of TWO year Diploma in Elementary Education; OR PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of FOUR year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed); OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of TWO year Diploma in Education (Special Education); OR B.A / B.Sc Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of TWO year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI- VIII: Elementary Stage
B.A / B.Sc Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of TWO year Diploma in Elementary Education; OR B.A / B.Sc Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in ONE year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed); OR PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of FOUR year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed); OR PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of FOUR year B.A /B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed /B.Sc.Ed; OR B.A / B.Sc Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in ONE year B.Ed. (Special Education).

PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of FOUR year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed); OR B.A / B.Sc Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of TWO year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Fees for KARTET 2015 Examination
- For PAPER I or PAPER II:

Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/CI only
- For BOTH PAPER I and PAPER II:
Rs.800/- for General, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B Groups
Rs. 400/- for SC/ST/CI only
Applicants can pay the Fee through computer generated Challan by depositing the prescribed fees in Cash to CAC Account with State Bank of Mysore. Differently Abled Candidates are exempted from payment of fees.

Applicants are suggested to read the instructions carefully to apply and procedure for on-line submission of Application Form. Fill in the on-line application “REGISTRATION” Part-1. Next Step is “LOGIN” for application to furnish the “Personal Details” by using the “User Name” and “Password”. Next step is “Generate Challan” after completing of the “Personal Details”. Make payment of fee through download Challan for payment in the designated accounts of State Bank of Mysore. Fill in the on-line Application Form furnishing the details of fee deposited. Upload Scanned Images of photograph and signature in the on-line application form.
Applicants are suggested to take a print out of the computer generated Confirmation page(s) with Registration Number and Address Slip i.e the Complete Online Application copy, after successful submission of data; for further references.
