IOCL Barauni Oil Refinery Recruitment 2013 – Opportunity For Junior Engineering Assistant-IV/ Trainee In Barauni Oil Refinery

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), is an Indian government owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation. The company is the 83rd largest public sector corporation, according to the Fortune list for Global 500 companies in the world. IndianOil and its subsidiaries account for its share in the petroleum products market, refining capacity and downstream pipelining sector in India. The IndianOil Group of Companies owns and operates 10 out of total 22 refineries in India with a aggregated refining capacity of 65.7 million metric tonnes per year. IOCL has been conferred Maharatna status by the Govt. of India for its expanded scale of operation.

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals fulfilling the eligibility criteria for the under mentioned posts at Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Barauni Oil Refinery Complex.

The category-wise vacancies and requisite criteria for selection are as indicated below:

Details of the Job Positions:      

  1. Jr. engineering Assistant-IV (Production)/ Trainee – 25 Posts (UR-14, SC-04, OBC-07) – Pay Scale – Rs.11900- Rs.32000 –  Academics – B.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry & Maths) or 3 year Diploma in Chemical Engineering with 55% marks (60% for Trainees) – Experience – 1 (one) year post qualification experience in Operations Area in large  scale Refinery/ Petrochemical/ Fertilizer/ Chemical/ Process industry (No Experience for Trainees)
  2. Jr. engineering Assistant-IV (Instrumentation)/ Trainee – 03 Posts (UR-01, SC-01, OBC-01) – Pay Scale – Rs.11900- Rs.32000 –  Academics – 3 year Diploma in Instrumentation Or Industrial Electronics with minimum 55% marks (60% for Trainees) – Experience – 1 (one) year post qualification experience in Process Control Instrumentation, Control valves, DCS, PLC etc in continuous process units like Refinery/ Petro-chemical/ Fertilizer/ Power (No experience for Trainees)
  3. Jr. engineering Assistant-IV (Mechanical)/ Trainee – 13 Posts (UR-07, SC-01, OBC-05) – Pay Scale – Rs. 11900- Rs.32000 –  Academics – 3 year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 55% marks (60% for Trainee) – Experience –  1 (one) year post qualification experience in mechanical maintenance jobs in Process/ Chemical Industries like Refinery/ Petro-chemical/ Fertilizer/ Power. Knowledge of alignment like laser/ hot alignment of rotary equipments and maintenance of Centrifugal pumps, Reciprocating pumps/ Compressors/ Gear box etc is desirable (No experience for Trainees)
  4. Junior Quality Control Analyst-IV/ Trainee- 3 Posts (UR-02, OBC-01 out of which PWD-01) – Pay Scale – Rs. 11900- Rs.32000 –  Academics – M.Sc (Chemistry)/ B.Sc. Hons. in Chemistry with Physics and Maths as subsidiary subjects (Minimum – 55% marks in the Hons./ Principal subject). Candidates having M.Sc (Chemistry) must have done B.Sc. Hons. in Chemistry with Physics and Maths as subsidiary subjects with minimum 50% marks (60% and 55% respectively for Trainee posts) – Experience – 1 (one) year post qualification experience in chemical/ process industry, Govt. or private laboratories/ research institutes/ college laboratory etc. Experience of handling sophisticated instruments like gas chromatograph, spectrophotometer will be desired (No experience for Trainees)
  5. Jr. engineering Assistant-IV (P&U) Turbine/ Trainee – 7 Posts (UR-04, SC-01, OBC-02) – Pay Scale – Rs. 11900- Rs.32000 –  Academics – 3 years Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with minimum 55% marks (60% for Trainees) – Experience –  1 (one) year apprenticeship experience in Boiler operations/ Turbine-cum-auxiliary plant operations in an industrial house under the Or, Two years work experience in Power & Utilities operation in a power plant having installed capacity of more than 20 MW (No experience for Trainees)
  6. Junior Control Room Operator-IV/ Trainee and Junior Engineering Assistant-IV (Electrical)/ Trainee – 5 Posts (UR-02, OBC-03) – Pay Scale – Rs. 11900- Rs.32000 –  Academics – 3 years Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 55% marks (60% for Trainees) – Experience –  1 (one) year experience in relevant area i.e. electrical maintenance/ project jobs in chemical/ process industry, power plants, Electricity Boards, manufacturing industries (No experience for Trainees)
  7. Jr. engineering Assistant-IV (P&U) Boiler – 2 Posts (UR-01, SC-01) – Pay Scale – Rs. 11900- Rs.32000 –  Academics – B.Sc (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) and IInd Class Boiler Competency Certificate or (ii) Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and IInd Class Boiler Competency Certificate. – Experience –  1 (one) year post qualification experience in Power & Utility operations in a power plant having installed capacity of more than 20 MW
  8. Junior Materials Assistant-IV/ Trainee – 1 Post (OBC-01 reserved for PWD) – Pay Scale – Rs. 11900- Rs.32000 –  Academics – 3 years Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering with minimum 55% marks (60% for Trainees) and working knowledge of computers – Experience –  1 (one) year experience in Purchase/ commercial area of an industry/ Commercial organisation (No experience for Trainees)
  9. Jr. engineering Assistant-IV (Fire and Safety)/ Trainee – 2 Posts (UR-01, SC-01) – Pay Scale – Rs. 11900- Rs.32000 –  Academics – Matriculation with Sub-Officer’s course from NFSC Nagpur & HMV Driving License OR, Matriculation with Firemen course from recognized Institute & HMV Driving License with appropriate physical Standard- Experience –  1 (one) years post qualification experience in Fire Service in Govt./ PSU/ Industrial Fire Service (No experience for Trainees)

Note: For educational qualification and experience the reckoning date will be 28-Feb-2013

Important Eligibility Factor:

  • Age:   The desiring candidates must fall within the age group of 18-26 years as on 31-July-2013. The age range is 18-24 years for Trainee profiles. Upper age limit is relaxed for reserved category of candidates

Stipend for Trainees:

The trainees will receive a monthly consolidated stipend of Rs.11000 during the entire period of training along with other facilities as applicable

Application fees:

  • The fees are payable in shape of a crossed DD of Rs. 100/- (One hundred only) as application fee (non-refundable) in favour of Accounts Officer, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Barauni Refinery payable at Begusarai. The crossed DD may be issued by any Branch other than SBI, BR Campus Branch.
  • No other mode of payment shall be accepted.
  • SC/ ST/ Ex-servicemen/ PWD candidates are exempted from payment of application fee

Mode of Selection:

  • Selection would be based on written test, trade test (as applicable) and personal interview. The candidates will have to pass successfully through each stage of the selection process including medical fitness for being selected
