Indian Air Force has invited applications from unmarried Indian nationals for post of airman in Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades. Candidates of State of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura are required to apply only.
Nature of The Post:
Group X technical trade would involve jobs like Automobile Fitter, Electronics Fitter, Electrical Fitter, Mechanical System Fitter, Structures Fitter, Propulsion Fitter, Workshop Fitter (Smith), Workshop Fitter (Mechanical) and Weapon Fitter.

The Recruitment Test will be conducted from 7 AM onwards. Candidates reporting upto 10 AM at the Rally venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Rally.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidate should be a permanent domicile of State of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura or must have completed his education from any of the university that resides in given geographical boundaries.
Eligible candidates must have done intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
OR, 3 year diploma course in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology with at least 50% marks in overall aggregate from a Government recognised Polytechnic Institute.
Age Limit:
Anyone applying for these posts must have born between 01-01-1992 to 31-03-1996 (dates inclusive).
Pay Scale:
Appointed candidates shall be paid a stipend of Rs. 8550/- pm during training period. After successful completion he will be subjected to a pay of Rs. 21414/- pm including all allowances which may rise up to Rs. 37,788/- pm depending on the rank.
Selection Process:
Certificates / Mark Sheets and other required documents {NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate, Son of Air Force Personnel Certificate (SOAFP)} etc will be scrutinized and verified.
All applicants will have to undergo written test of 60 minutes duration thereafter. Those who qualify written exam will be eligible for physical fitness test. After successful completion of that shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. Successful candidates of interview will have to undergo Trade Allocation Test for bifurcation of Electronic and Mechanical streams. Final selection of candidates shall be made after medical examination.

Successful candidates will be Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) for one year at Basic Training Institute, Belgaum (Karnataka). On successful completion of Joint Basic Phase Training, candidates will be allocated trades and sent for Trade Training. After successful completion of trade training, the airmen will be deployed on ground based jobs as per their trades. Thereafter candidates will be enrolled is for an initial period of twenty years extendable up-to the age of 57 years.
