The Income Tax Department of India is responsible for compliance of tax laws, collect taxes from taxpayers and generate maximum resources for the nation. The department enforces laws and guidelines regarding to payment of income taxes.
Applications are invited for the recruitment of meritorious sports persons in different sports/games by Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Hyderabad. The recruitment will be made to following posts:
- Income-tax inspectors
- Stenographers Grade II
- Tax Assistants
- Muti Tasking Staff
Total Number of Vacancies: The total number of vacancies is 41 including all above posts.

Age Limit (as on 01-08-2012):
Age limit for Income Tax Inspectors and Stenographers is 18-25 years. For remaining posts, the age limit is 18-25 years. There is relaxation in upper age for candidates belonging to OBC, SC/ST, unreserved candidates and central government employees.
Pay Scale: Pay scale will depend upon the type of post and their grades as given below.
- Income Tax Inspectors-Rs 9,300-34,800+ Grade Pay 4,600
- Stenographers-Rs 5,200-20,200+Grade Pay 2,400
- Tax Assistants-Rs 5,200-20,200+Grade Pay 2,400
- Multi Tasking Staff-Rs 5,200-20,200+Grade Pay 1,800
In addition to above salary, the candidates will be entitled to allowances as per Central Government employees.
Application Fee & How to: The application fees to be paid for all the posts is Rs 100/- by way of Demand Draft or Banker’s cheque in favor of ‘ZAO, CBDT, Hyderabad”.
There is no application fee for candidates belonging to SC/ST category and women candidates.

Selection Process: The candidates will be recruited in two phases.
- Phase I- The applicants will be ranked according to the post applied for, based on current fitness levels and achievements in sports and games.
- Phase II- In second phase, the candidates will be called for written tests according to their rankings in the first phase.
