As one of the most sought after entrance examinations in India being managed and conducted by the premier institutions like IITs, IISc and Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is the best of entrance examinations for a student in Engineering. In the year 2013 GATE has witnessed a new facelift to the examination patterns along with some of the basic change in examination patterns. GATE 2013 is going to be evaluated with a completely new type of evaluation system as per the recent release of notification. Apart from this there will also be some structural changes applied to GATE in the coming year.
GATE 2013 will be conducted during the January and February 2013 and will be conducted both in online as well as offline mode. Out of 21 subject specific papers in line with specific branches of Engineering Education, there will be 15 papers conducted through online mode. Remaining 6 disciplines will be conducted through OMR sheets on a paper based mode.
For the year 2013 GATE will be conducted for duration of 3 hours with 65 questions and maximum of 100 marks. These scores will remain valid for a period of 2 years and during this time the candidate can utilize the GATE scores to take admission into post graduation programs, research activities along with participating in a recruitment procedure. This exam also bears another advantage as the scores of this examination will allow a person to pursue for study aboard programs in certain nations.
