Cochin Shipyard was incorporated in the year 1972 as a fully owned Government of India company. In the last three decades the company has emerged as a forerunner in the Indian Shipbuilding & Shiprepair industry. This yard can build and repair the largest vessels in India. Conferred with a Miniratna status, this Govt. Of India company bears a significance with its excellence in Ship manufacturing and production. The Shipyard also trains almost 100 graduate engineers every year to marine engineers who later join ships both Indian and foreign as 5th Engineers.

Important dates:

Name of the Positions and Number of Vacancies:
- Assistant General Manager (Painting): Grade-E5 – Total 1 Post (UR)
- Deputy Manager (Painting): Grade-E2 – Total 2 Posts (UR)
Pay Scale:
- Grade-E5 – Rs.32900 – Rs.58000 with other perks and remunerations. Approximate CTC Rs.12.47 Lakhs
- Grade-E2 – Rs.20600 – Rs.46500 with other perks and remunerations. Approximate CTC Rs.7.56 Lakhs
Education:
- Assistant General Manager (Painting): The candidate should have Degree in any branch of Engineering / Paint Technology with a minimum of 60% marks and should have acquired certification of NACE-Level-II Inspector or NBPI or FROSIO Level III (RED) Inspector.
- Deputy Manager (Painting): The candidate should have Degree/Diploma in any branch of Engineering / Paint Technology Or, Degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 60% marks and should have acquired certification of NACE-Level-II Inspector or NBPI or FROSIO Level III (RED) Inspector.
Post-Qualification Experience (As on 30-April-2013)
- Assistant General Manager (Painting): The candidate should have at least 15 years of relevant experience out of which at least 9 years must be international experience outside India, in large companies in Ship building/Ship repair/Offshore fabrication industry or Paint Industry.
If in case, the above candidates are not available then, candidates with 10 years experience out of which 6 years international experience outside India will be considered for the post of Senior Manager in E-4 Grade.
- Deputy Manager (Painting):
For Graduate Engineers: The candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience out of which at least 3 years must be international experience outside India, in large companies in Ship building/Ship repair/Offshore fabrication industry or Paint Industry.
For Diploma Engineers/ Chemistry Graduates: The candidate should have at least 9 years of relevant experience out of which at least 5 years must be international experience outside India, in large Paint/ Heavy Engineering company.
Age Requirement (As on 31-March-2013):
- Assistant General Manager (Painting): The candidate should not have exceeded 45 years.
- Deputy Manager (Painting): The candidate should not have exceeded 35 years.
Note: Relaxation in upper age limit will be applicable as per the category of candidates as per rules.
Application fee:
- A fee of Rs.300 will be applicable for each position.
- SC, ST and PWD candidates are exempted from payment of fees
- The candidates will have to pay this fee in shape of a Crossed Demand Draft on any nationalized bank in favour of “COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED” and payable at Kochi.
Mode of Selection:
- The selection for the posts will be on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview to be held at Kochi.
- The candidates have to undergo a pre-employment Medical Examination prior to their appointment
