Central Silk Board Recruitment 2014 For Various Posts (From Scientist To Assistants and LDC)
The Central Silk Board (CSB) is a Statutory Body, established during 1948, by an Act of Parliament. It functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Presently headquartered at Bangalore, Karnataka, the CSB is having its branches spread across the country. Central Silk Board has established Central Sericultural Research & Training Institutes at Mysore, Berhampore and Pampore, along with its Silkworm Seed Technology Laboratory at Bangalore, Seri-biotech Research Laboratory at Bangalore, and Central Sericultural Germplasm Resources Centre at Hosur for mulberry sericulture research. It provides consultancy, conducts R&D for Sericulture and produces and markets silk-seed and silks from India.
With the recent requirement from the CSB, it has released a notification regarding inducting competent candidates in the positions of Scientists, Computer Programmers, Silk Inspectors, Technical/ Statistical Assistants and clerical positions to be posted under its various establishments in the country.

Pay Scale:
- For Posts in Sl. No. 1 & 2 (Scientist-B): The candidates get selected for this post will receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.15600-Rs.39100 and a Grade pay of Rs.5400 in the PB-III
- For Posts in Sl. No. 3 (Comp. Programmer): The candidates get selected for this post will receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.9300-Rs.34800 and a Grade pay of Rs.4600 in the PB-II
- For Posts in Sl. No. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9: The candidates get selected for this post will receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.9300-Rs.34800 and a Grade pay of Rs.4200 in the PB-II
- For Posts in Sl. No. 10: The candidates get selected for this post will receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.5200-Rs.20200 and a Grade pay of Rs.2800 in the PB-I
- For Posts in Sl. No. 11, 12: The candidates get selected for this post will receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.5200-Rs.20200 and a Grade pay of Rs.2400 in the PB-I

Essential Age Factors:
- For Posts in Sl. No. 01 & 02: The candidates must not have exceeded 35 years as on 14-Mar-2013.
- For Posts in Sl. No. 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 09 & 10: The candidates must be below 30 years as on 14-Mar-2013.
- For Posts in Sl. No. 08: The candidates must be below 27 years as on 14-Mar-2013.
- For Posts in Sl. No. 11, 12, 13, & 14: The candidates must be below 25 years as on 14-Mar-2013.
- However, Age relaxations are applicable according to the rules laid down by the Central Government.
Minimum Educational Qualification:
- Scientist-B: The applicants should have obtained Master’s degree in Science or Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences.
- Scientist-B (Reeling & Spinning): The applicants should have obtained Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Textile Technology.
- Computer Programmer: The applicants should have obtained Graduation with 2nd class in Computer Science with 2 years experience in Electronic Data Processing (EDP), OR, Graduation with 2nd class, in Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce, Economics and Post Graduate Diploma Course in Computer Applications and 2 years experience in EDP, OR, M.Sc. in Computer Science.
- Inspector (Silk): The applicants should have obtained 2nd Class Bachelor’s degree in Textiles or equivalent qualification OR, Diploma in Handloom Technology or Textiles with 3 years experience in the related field. M.Tech. (Textiles) or equivalent qualification is desirable for the candidates.
- Junior Translator (Hindi): The applicants should have obtained 2nd Class Master’s Degree in Hindi with Diploma in Translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa.
- Senior Mechanic: The applicants should have obtained 3 years Diploma in Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Engineering/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent, as per the nature of the job.
- Assistant (Technical): The applicants should have obtained 2nd Class Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in Entomology/ Zoology/ Botany/ Agriculture/ Sericulture or an equivalent qualification.
- Technical Assistant (R&S): The applicants should have obtained 3 year Diploma Course in Textile Technology/ Handloom Technology. Computer knowledge will be an added advantage for these posts.
- Assistant: The applicants should have obtained 2nd Class Bachelor’s degree in Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Bachelor of Law with minimum of 5 years Office experience.
- Statistical Assistant: The applicants should have obtained 2nd Class Master’s degree with at least 50% marks in Statistics.
- Upper Division Clerk: The applicants should have obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Science/ Commerce/ Arts. The applicant should have passed Typewriting examination conducted by State Technical Education Board with a speed of 30 words per minute in English typewriting. (Skill test on Computer only)
- Junior Stenographer (Hindi): The applicants should have obtained Matriculation or equivalent qualification with a pass in Hindi Typewriting and Shorthand examinations conducted by the State Technical Education Board with a speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi Typewriting and 80 words per minute in Hindi Shorthand. Preference will be given to Graduates and persons having Computer Knowledge.
- Field Assistant: The applicants should have obtained Matriculation (with Science) or Diploma in Sericulture or an equivalent qualification. Candidates having experience will be preferred.
- Lower Division Clerk: The applicants should have obtained Matriculation or equivalent qualification with a pass in Junior Grade Typewriting examination conducted by State Technical Education Board with a speed of 30 words per minute in English Typewriting/ 25 words per minute in Hindi Typewriting.
Mode of Selection:
- The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of a Written Test, Viva-Voice and Career Assessment Marks as per the discretion of the Central Silk Board (CSB).
