Bank of India, a leading Public Sector Bank with its Head office at Mumbai, invites online applications for recruitment of Recruitment of Probationary Officers in JMGS-I upon passing Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Finance (PGDBF) – Project No. 2022-23/3.

REGULAR POSTS: 500 Vacancies

Credit Officer in General Banking stream- 350 vacancies; JMGS-I

Candidates must possess three years full time Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a Government recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

IT Officer in Specialist stream- 150 vacancies; JMGS-I

Candidates must possess four years Engineering/ Technology Degree in Information Technology/ Electronics/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Electronics & Telecommunications/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation. OR

Possess Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline AND Post Graduate Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Applications/ Electronics/ Electronics & Tele Communication/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation. OR

Possess Graduate Degree in any discipline AND Passed DOEACC ‘B’ Level.

Date of Online Examination:

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of online test of 225 MARKS (English Language, General Awareness with special reference to Banking Industry, Financial Management), and/or personal interview. The examination will be conducted online in Ahmedabad, Bangaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla and Thiruvananthapuram; followed by Personal Interview of 60 MARKS and Group Discussion of 40 MARKS depending on the number of eligible candidates.

Online examination will be of 225 MARKS. There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests.

  • Data Analysis & Interpretation- 60 Marks
  • Reasoning and Computer Aptitude- 60 Marks
  • English Language- 40 Marks
  • General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness- 40 Marks
  • English Descriptive paper (Letter Writing & Essay)- 25 Marks

Final selection of the candidates will be based on the marks obtained by the candidates in Online Examination, Personal Interview and Group discussion.

Pay Scale:
Junior Management Grade Scale I (JMGS I): Rs. 36000-1490/7-46430-1740/2-49910-1990/7-63840/-

Candidates must have fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria, for consideration of job positions. Candidates must possess minimum 60% marks (55% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) at graduation level.

Age Limit: As on 01-FEB-2023
Minimum 20 years and Maximum 29 years. However, relaxation in upper age limit applicable as per rules.

Application Fees: Online Mode
Rs. 175/- for SC/ ST category candidates
Rs. 850/- for All other category candidates
The payment can be made by using only Master/ Visa /RuPay Debit or Credit cards or Internet Banking.

How to Apply: Apply Online The candidates can apply online through the web portal of Bank of India at  www.bankofindia.co.in at the career section of the portal and through the link “Recruitment of Probationary Officers in JMGS-I Project No. 2022-23/3”.

Course Fee: The Fee for the above said PGDBF course of one year is Rs. 3,50,000/- + GST which can be made by the selected candidate. The selected candidates will have the option to pay the course fee from their own sources or
by availing Education Loan from our Bank subject to eligibility.

During the first three trimesters of training period at institute, enrolled candidates will get a stipend of Rs.2500/- per month and during the last trimester, stipend of Rs.15,000/-per month.

After successful completion of 5 years service in the Bank as a regular employee, Bank will reimburse the total course fee to the candidates.

With the introduction of IBPS exam since 2011, the recruitments for different posts in the bank are being done through the score of Common Written Exam separately. There are exams conducted for Probationary officers, clerks and specialist officers as well as management trainees. These recruits are appointed on the basis of selection through the written exam and then the selected candidates are finally reviewed through the group discussion or personal interview.

Opportunities in 2023-24:- Although, the dates for the next banking clerical and probationary officer positions are not yet advertised, candidates will have to prepare for the exams by keeping a tab on the tentative dates. Since the probationary officers for 2023 were recruited in March, and the clerk recruitment is finished by June, the recruitment for the same will again be held in the year 2023-24. Even if the number of posts varies, the recruitment process will be more as is being touted in many recruitment drives and by analysts. It is therefore important that the candidates prepare themselves well in order to secure a good score in the IBPS and apply before the time for the Bank of India recruitment for 2023-24 would be over. For this to happen, they will have to keep a watch in the internet or enquire from the respective banks.
