Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) shall hold a combined Agricultural Research Service (ARS)- 2021 (Preliminary Examination), National Eligibility Test (NET)-2021 Examination and Senior Technical Officer (STO) (T6) Examination during 23-August-2021 to 27-August-2021 at 23 centres across India.

Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) was established in order to support the ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) and other Agricultural Universities of the State level for selection of competent personnel for the positions of Assistant Professors/ Junior Scientists/ Scientists as well as Lecturers for the research and development of Agricultural Science in India. Scientists [through ARS Examination]: 48 Disciplines/ 222 Vacancies
The ARS (Preliminary) Examination is a qualifying examination and its marks will not be carried forward for determining final merit of the candidates. All those candidates desirous of appearing for ARS Examination are required to take both the Preliminary and Mains Examination and viva-voce. Only those candidates who qualify the ARS2021 (Preliminary) Examination will be eligible to appear in the ARS 2021 (Mains) Examination.
Candidates declared successful in ARS 2021 (Mains) Examination and viva-voce will be recommended for appointment as Scientists in Agricultural Research Service (ARS) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
For NET-2021: There is no restrictions on the number of posts as it is a Awarding Test to allow a person eligibility to act as a Lecturer in Agricultural Colleges/ Universities.
National Eligibility Test (NET) is a qualifying examination for determining eligibility for the position of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs). Candidates clearing the National Eligibility Test will be eligible to apply for the post of Lecturers or Assistant Professors in the SAUs/AUs.
For STO (T6) 2021: 65 Vacancies
Pay Scale: The finally selected candidates through ARS Examination-2021 will be recommended for appointment as Scientists in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in the Pay Band-III of Rs.57,700 – 1,82,400/- Pay Matrix Level-10.
NET will be a qualifying examination in nature to determine eligibility of a person as a Lecturer/ Assistant Professors in State Agricultural Universities and other Agricultural Universities.

Academic Requirements: The candidates interested for the both these examinations must have secured a Masters Degree in concerned branches of Agricultural Science with Specialization as defined on the detailed notification. Age Requirement: The applicant must have attended the minimum age of 21 years and must not have crossed maximum age of 32 years of age by 01-January-2021 to attend the ARS-2021.
The applicant must have attended the minimum age of 21 years to attend the NET 2021. However, there will be age relaxation admissible for reserved category candidates as per rules of ICAR.
The applicant must have attended the minimum age of 21 years and must not have crossed maximum age of 35 years of age by 25-April-2021 to attend the STO (T-6) 2021.
Application Fees:
For SC/ ST/ PWD and Women candidates: [ARS-Nil, NET- Rs. 250/-, STO (T-6)- Nil]
For General: Rs.1500/- [ARS- Rs. 500/-, NET- Rs. 1000/-, STO (T-6)- Rs. 500/-]
For Other Backward Class (OBC) Non Creamy Layer: [ARS- Rs. 500/-, NET- Rs. 500/-, STO (T-6)- Rs. 500/-]
The candidates applying for any one examination are required to remit examination fee for that examination only as mentioned above. Candidates can considered either for ARS or NET or STO or any combination of the three. Payment can be made through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/ UPI payment.
Number of Attempts: The number of attempts for appearing in the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Examination will be limited to SIX for all candidates (whether M.Sc./Ph.D.) including the in-service candidates of I.C.A.R. However, this restriction will not apply to SC, ST and PwD candidates, who are otherwise eligible.
There is no restriction on number of attempts for appearing in the National Eligibility Test.
The number of attempts made by the candidates prior to ARS Examination–2021 will not be taken into account for counting the number of attempts made.
Probation Period: Candidates selected for appointment to the Service will be appointed as Scientists in the Service on probation for a period of two years which may be extended, if necessary.
Mode of Selection: The ARS 2021 (Preliminary), NET (I) 2021 Examination and Senior Technical Officer (STO) (T6) Examination will be conducted in Online format at the designated Centres. The questions of the Examination will be available in bilingual form i.e. in Hindi and English medium. The answers are to be indicated on the Computer itself during the Examination.
(a) ARS-2021 (Preliminary), NET (I) 2021 and and Senior Technical Officer (STO) (T6) (Objective Type) 150 marks 2 hours duration
1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in ARS-2021 (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type)
(b) ARS-2021 (Mains) (Descriptive Type) 240 marks 3 hours duration
(c) Viva-voce 60 marks for ARS-2021; and Viva-voce 30 marks for (STO) (T6) 2021
ARS-2021 Mains Examination will be conducted in conventional paper and pen mode. The questions of the examination in the Test Booklet (Question Paper cum Answer Booklet) will be available in bilingual form i.e. in Hindi and English medium. The applicants will have to indicate their medium of Examination in the online application form itself.
The candidates will be at liberty to communicate in Hindi or English during the viva-voce of ARS Examination.
