Number of Vacancies: 126 Vacancies
- Reservation will be applicable for various categories as per state government norms. It will benefit only native candidates of Bihar State. Other State/UT applicants will be treated under unreserved category.
Pay Scale & Remunerations: The selected candidates selected as Constables in Bihar Police will be entitled to receive remuneration in the scale of Rs.9300-34800/- with Grade Pay of Rs.4200/-. The candidates will also be eligible for other facilities and remunerations as per norms.
Who Can Apply:
Gender: Both Male & Female
Academics: The candidates must be Graduate from a recognised university.
Age Limit: Minimum 20 years and
Maximum 37 years for unreserved male candidates, 40 years for BC/ EBC category male candidates, 40 years for unreserved/ BC/ EBC category female candidates, and 42 years for SC/ ST category candidates as on 01-January-2018.
Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected on the bass of written examination (Preliminary and Mains) and skill test. Candidates selected on the basis of Preliminary exam of 100 marks, will have to appear for Mains examination of 200 marks. Candidates must also have to qualify in typing, steno, and computer test in order to be included in merit list.
Minimum Physical Fitness: The candidates applying for the Constable positions will have to pass the Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test to be eligible for selection.
- Physical Standard Test
Height: 165 cm (General/ BC/ EBC Male Candidates), 162 cm (SC/ ST Male candidates), 160 cm (Gurkha), and 155 cm (for all category women candidates)
Weight: In proportion to height
Chest (only for men): 81 cm (General/ BC/ EBC Male Candidates) with minimum 5 cm expansion. 79 cm (SC/ ST Male candidates and Gurkha) with minimum 5 cm expansion.
- Physical Efficiency Test
Run: Male candidates will have to complete the race of one mile in not more than 6 minutes. Female candidates will have to finish one kilometer race in 6 minutes.
Long Jump: Minimum 12 Foot for male candidates, and 9 Foot for female candidates.
High Jump: Minimum 4 Foot for male candidates, and 3 Foot for female candidates.
Application Fee:
Rs. 700/- for Candidate belonging to General / BC/ OBC categories; and Rs. 400/- for SC/ ST category candidates. Applicants are suggested to pay the fee through using Debit Cards, Credit Cards and Internet Banking facility Only.
