West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL), a professionally managed, consistently profit making, fully Government-owned, multi-sited Power Transmission Company in Eastern India. The Company has developed strong in-house expertise in various facets of power transmission and distribution. Serving more than 1 Crore consumers, this Company is a flag-bearer in power distribution in the state of West Bengal.

With its present notification, the WBSETCL is inviting candidates to fill up vacancy positions of Assistant Managers, Junior Executive, Junior Engineer, Spl. Technical Assistant, Pharmacist and Technician (Gr.-III) positions. The details of the vacancies and the essential criteria for recruitment is detailed as under:

Pay scale:

  • Assistant Manager and Assistant Company Secretary: The selected applicants will receive a scale of pay of Rs.15600-Rs.39100 and a Grade Pay of Rs.5400 with an approximate Gross salary of Rs.41500 at present at the time of recruitment.
  • Junior Executive (F&A): The selected applicants will receive a scale of pay of Rs.9300-Rs.34800 and a Grade Pay of Rs.4700 with an approximate Gross salary of Rs.28000 at present at the time of recruitment.
  • Junior Engineer and Special Technical Assistant: The selected applicants will receive a scale of pay of Rs.6300-Rs.20200 and a Grade Pay of Rs.4400 with an approximate Gross salary of Rs.27000 at present at the time of recruitment.
  • Pharmacist: The selected applicants will receive a scale of pay of Rs.6300-Rs.20200 and a Grade Pay of Rs.3600 with an approximate Gross salary of Rs.20000 at present at the time of recruitment.
  • Junior Engineer and Special Technical Assistant: The selected applicants will receive a scale of pay of Rs.6300-Rs.20200 and a Grade Pay of Rs.2600 with an approximate Gross salary of Rs.18000 at present at the time of recruitment.
  • The candidates will be also receive other allowances and perks as applicable by the WBSETCL

Age Specification:

  • The applicant must have attained a min of 18 years and should not exceed a max age of 27 years as on 01-Jan-2013. The upper age will be relaxed for SC/ST/OBC candidates from West Bengal and others as per rules.

Educational Qualification:

  • Assistant Manager (HR&A): The applicants must be a Graduate in any discipline and 2 years full time course in MBA/ MPM/ MHRM with specialization in Personnel Management/ HR OR, Post-Graduate full time Degree / Diploma with specialization in Personnel Management / HR.
  • Assistant Manager (F&A): The applicants must be a Graduate in any discipline and passed Final Examination from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India OR, MBA with specialization in Finance
  • Assistant Company Secretary: The applicants must be a Graduate in any discipline and member of Institute of Company Secretaries of India
  • Assistant Manager (Corporate Communication): The applicants must be a Graduate in any discipline with 2 year Post Graduate Degree in Public Relations/ Journalism/ Mass Communication/ One year full time PG Diploma in Mass Communications/ Public Relations/ Journalism from Indian Institute of Mass Communication
  • Junior Executive (F&A): The applicants must be a Graduate in any discipline and should have passed CA (Inter)/ ICWA (Inter)
  • Jr. Engineer Gr.–II (Electrical): The applicants must be a 3 years fulltime Diploma holder in Electrical Engineering
  • Jr. Engineer Gr.–II (Civil): The applicants must be a 3 years fulltime Diploma holder in Civil Engineering
  • Special Technical Assistant: The applicants must be a 3 years fulltime Diploma holder in Electronics and Tele-Communication/ Radio/ Wireless Engineering
  • Pharmacist: The applicants must have passed Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized Institute
  • Technician Gr.-III: The applicants must have passed Madhyamic and should have passed 2 years fulltime ITI Certificate course from NCTVT in the trades of Wireman/ Electrician
  • Degree from Open University/ Private University/ Distance Learning Mode/ Part Time/ Sandwich Course shall not be considered. Candidates must have the ability to read, understand, speak and write in Bengali/ Nepali language

Service Bond:

  • The selected candidates are required to furnish a Bond of Rs.75000 or Rs.50000 at the time of joining in the Company as per the nature of the posts and are required to serve the Company for a minimum period of 4 years from the date of joining.

Mode of Selection:

  • The selection of candidates will be done on the basis of performance in Written Test, and Interview for both posts.
  • Candidates who will qualify in the Interview will be considered for final selection on merit ranking basis.

Application Fee:

  • For all candidates except SC, ST from the state of West Bengal for post code 1-4: Rs.400
  • For all candidates except SC, ST from the state of West Bengal for post code 5-10: Rs.250
  • For SC/ST candidates from West Bengal: Fees exempted
  • Apart from the above fee the candidates need to submit Rs.22 extra as bank Charges
  • The fees can be deposited in any branch of United Bank of India through the cash deposit triplicate challan as available at the website of WBSETCL at http://wbsetcl.imscripts.com/.
  • No other mode of fees will be accepted by WBSETCL

  • Interested candidates can apply through Online mode only at the website of WBSETCL at http://wbsetcl.imscripts.com/
  • The candidates are advised to read through the details of the advertisement available at http://wbsetcl.imscripts.com/pdf/Other_Post_Paper_Ad_2.pdf, before applying online.
  • The candidates are required to upload their scanned photograph and signature during submission of Online Application Form.
  • After online submission of application the candidates are advised to take a print out of the completed Application Form, and keep that along with Original Fee Payment Challan and Certificates in support of age, education and relaxation to be produced during Written Test and Interview stages.
  • Candidates shall need not to send any copy of the Application Form or challan through post at this moment.
  • Intimations will only be sent by E-Mail and/ SMS only to the email ID and mobile number registered in the online application form.
