TNSET 2016 Notification, Exam Date, Subjects, Syllabus, Admit Card, Result- On behalf of UGC, Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal (MTWU), Tamil Nadu announces holding of the State Eligibility Test (TNSET 2016) on 21-February-2016, for determining the eligibility for Assistant Professor in Tamil Nadu universities and colleges. Candidates shall appear for TNSET 2016 examination in their relevant subject of their post graduation only.
TNSET 2016 will consist of three papers (Paper-1 of 100 marks, Paper-2 of 100 marks, and paper-3 of 150 marks) of objective type questions, in three separate sessions.
Candidates are required to secure minimum marks separately in Paper-I (40 marks for general candidates and 35 marks for reserved category candidates), Paper-II (40 marks for general candidates and 35 marks for reserved category candidates), and Paper–III (75 marks for general candidates and 60 marks for reserved category candidates); to be eligible for Assistant Professor in Tamil Nadu universities and colleges.

Eligibility Norms-
Qualification: Candidates must have secured minimum 55% of marks for General category [50% in case candidates belonging to Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes (MBC)/ Denotified Communities (DNC)/ Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PWD-VH/PH)] in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognized by UGC.
Candidates who have appeared for final year examination and still awaited for result, may also appear for this test.
The Ph.D. Degree holders whose Master’s Degree completed on or before 19-September-1991 shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% marks for appearing in TNSET 2016 examination.
Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for applying for TNSET 2016 examination.
Examination Fee:
Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PWD-VI,HI,PH candidates
Rs. 1250/- for BC/ M BC/ DNC category candidates
Rs. 1500/- for General category candidates
Applicants are suggested to pay the examination fee either by credit/ debit card or through e-challan generated during the online filling of the application form in State Bank of India.
