SSC Recruitment 2016: Junior Translator, Hindi Translator, Pradhyapak Exam Notification

Staff Selection Commission will hold a combined All India Open Competitive Examination for Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Hindi Pradhyapak Positions.

SSC Recruitment 2016 For
A) Junior Hindi Translator in Central Secretariat Official Language Service (CSOLS),
B) Junior Translator in M/o Railways (Railway Board),
C) Junior Translator in Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ), 
D) Junior Translator/ Junior Hindi Translator in subordinate offices who have adopted Model RRs of DoP&T, 
E) Senior Hindi Translator in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/ Offices, and 
F) Junior Translator/ Junior Hindi Translator in subordinate offices who have not yet adopted Model RRs of DoP&T
G) Hindi Pradhyapak in Central Hindi Training Institute (CHTI)

Written Examination will be held on 19-June-2016 and will consist of two papers of 400 marks [Paper I (Objective Type) question of 200 marks from General Hindi and English topics; Paper- II (Conventional Type) of 200 marks from Translation and Essay].

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the Written Examination (Paper-I& Paper-II) only. There will be no interview. The details of the recruitment procedure are as follows:

Details of the Posts & Pay Scale:
Junior Translator/ Junior Hindi Translator: Rs.9300-34800/- (Pay Band II) plus Grade Pay of Rs.4200/-
Hindi Pradhyapak (in Central Hindi Training Institute): Rs.9300-34800/- (Pay Band II) plus Grade Pay of Rs.4800/-
Senior Translator: Rs.9300-34800/- (Pay Band II) plus Grade Pay of Rs.4600/-

Education Qualification (as on 01-January-2016): The candidate must have the following qualification to be eligible for the job positions:

For Post Codes “A” to “D”, and Post Code “E”: The applicants must possess .Master‟s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master‟s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master‟s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination at the degree level; OR Master‟s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master‟s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level.

Candidates must also have completed Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa or two years experience (three years of experience in case of Post Code E) of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.

For Post Code “F”: The applicants must possess Master‟s degree of a recognized University in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level, OR Bachelor‟s degree with Hindi and English as main subjects (which includes the term compulsory and elective).

For Post Code “G”: The applicants must possess Bachelor‟s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subject at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Master‟s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute. OR

The applicants must possess Bachelor‟s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Master‟s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institute.

Age Specification: Applicant must not have exceeded 30 years of age as on 01-January-2016. However, the relaxation in upper age is applicable as per rules for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD/ Ex-SM and other deserving candidates.

Unreserved (General) and OBC category candidates: Rs. 100/- only
Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Persons with disability and Ex-servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.
The fee can be deposited through through SBI Challan/ Net banking and any credit and debit cards.
