October, 2016: The Staff Selection Commission has conducted the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2016 in the Computer Based Mode from 27-August-2016 to 11-September-2016 throughout the country. 38.04 lakh registered candidates, about 14.99 lakh candidates actually appeared in SSC CGL 2016 Examination.
The result for CGLE (Tier-I)-2016, in context of the revised schedule of the examination, is tentatively proposed to be declared on 08-November-2016.
CGLE (Tier-II)-2016 would be tentatively held w.e.f. 30-November-2016 to 02-December-2016.
The Staff Selection Commission decided to conduct a re-examination for one Shift i.e. the Second Shift (Batch-II) of the CGLE Tier-I which was held at 4.15 PM to 5.30 PM on 27-August-2016.
Staff Selection Commission has notified the Revised Scheme of Combined Graduate Level Exam CGLE 2016.
Staff Selection Commission decided to conduct the CGLE 2016 Tier I and CGLE 2016 Tier II in Computer Based Examination Mode in place of OMR based examination mode.
CGLE 2016 Tier-I is scheduled to be held from 27th August, 2016.
The Commission has also decided to reduce the Number of Questions from 200 to 100 in Tier I of CGLE 2016. Total marks remain 200. The duration of the Tier-I examination would be for a period of 75 minutes.

General Intelligence & Reasoning: 25 Questions of 50 Marks
General Awareness: 25 Questions of 50 Marks
Quantitative Aptitude: 25 Questions of 50 Marks
English Comprehension: 25 Questions of 50 Marks
There will be negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer in Tier I. In respect of Tier II, the negative marking system will remain unchanged.
Commission has also decided to introduce a Descriptive Paper of English/Hindi as Tier III. The Question Paper will be bilingual. The candidates will have the option to choose any one medium.
The final merit will be prepared on overall performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III. However, the candidate will need to qualify all the tiers i.e. Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III separately.
