SSC CGL 2016 Tier 1 Exam Notification: SSC CGL Tier 1 2016 RESULT 08-November-2016

Latest Update on  October, 2016: The Result for SSC CGLE (Tier-I)-2016, in context of the revised schedule of the examination, SSC CGL Tier 1 2016 RESULT is tentatively proposed to be declared on 08-November-2016.

Latest Update on 01-July-2016: Staff Selection Commission has notified the Revised Scheme of Combined Graduate Level Exam CGLE 2016.

Staff Selection Commission decided to conduct the CGLE 2016 Tier I and CGLE 2016 Tier II in Computer Based Examination Mode in place of OMR based examination mode.

CGLE 2016 Tier-I is scheduled to be held from 27th August, 2016.

The Commission has also decided to reduce the Number of Questions from 200 to 100 in Tier I of CGLE 2016. Total marks remain 200. The duration of the Tier-I examination would be for a period of 75 minutes.

Revised Scheme of CGLE 2016 Tier I

Total Number of Questions- 100 | Total Marks: 200 | Duration of Exam- 75 Minutes

General Intelligence & Reasoning: 25 Questions of 50 Marks
General Awareness: 25 Questions of 50 Marks
Quantitative Aptitude: 25 Questions of 50 Marks
English Comprehension: 25 Questions of 50 Marks

There will be negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer in Tier I. In respect of Tier II, the negative marking system will remain unchanged.

Commission has also decided to introduce a Descriptive Paper of English/Hindi as Tier III. The Question Paper will be bilingual. The candidates will have the option to choose any one medium.

The final merit will be prepared on overall performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III. However, the candidate will need to qualify all the tiers i.e. Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III separately.

Staff Selection Commission will hold the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2016 (Tier-I) on 08-May-2016, and 22-May-2016 for Group B and Group C Posts in Intelligence Bureau, Central Secretariat, Central Vigilance, CBEC, CBDT, Ministry of External Affairs/ Railways, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), National Investigation Agency (NIA), Central Bureau of Narcotics, CAG, Postal Department, and other various Ministries/ Departments/ Organisations.

Important Dates:
Opening Date For Submission Of Online Application: 13-February-2016
Last Date For Submission of Online Application (Part-I Registration): 10-March-2016 Extended to 21-March-2016
Last Date For Submission of Online Application (Part-II Registration): 14-March-2016 Extended to 24-March-2016
Date of Written Examination CGL (Tier-I): 08-May-2016, and 22-May-2016 Extended to 27-August-2016

Important Update: All candidates meeting the age criteria as on 01-January-2016 and also on 01-August-2016 are eligible to apply.

SSC CGL Tier 1 – Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type) 2016
Total Marks – 200 [Quantitative Aptitude of 50 marks, General Awareness of 50 marks, General Intelligence and Reasoning of 50 marks, and English Comprehension of 50 marks] Duration: 02 hours
There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

SSC is going to conduct the Combined Graduate Level Examination for Group B and Group C category of posts under various Ministries/ Departments/ Organisations. This exam is conducted in various phases namely Tier 1 (Written Examination), and Tier 2 (Main Written Examination); and (Interview/ Personality Test/ Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification).

Tier 1 is common for all candidates opting for different posts. The application will remain provisional throughout the Tier-1 and Tier-1 examination, and will be final only upon the declaration of examination results by the SSC. For appointment preference for Ministry/ Department/ Office will be taken from the candidates qualified at the time of Interview/ Skill Test/ Typing Test.

Education Qualification As on 01-August-2016:
Compiler: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.

Statistical Investigator Grade–II: Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics as one of the main subjects OR, Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics ( with Statistics as a papers studied in one year/two years/all three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects OR, Bachelor’s Degree with Economics ( with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects, OR,  Bachelor’s Degree with Commerce (with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main subjects.

For All other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
Candidates who have not acquired/will not acquire the educational qualification as on 01-August-2016 will not be eligible and need not apply.
For posts of Assistants (CSS), Computer Proficiency has also been prescribed as an Essential Qualification.
Candidates have to produce the relevant certificates with respect to the required technical and Skills as per the detailed notification.

Mode of Selection: SSC CGL 2016 Exam will be conducted in the manner as
Tier-1: Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier-2: Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier-3: Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification.

*  Interview component has been dispensed with. There will, therefore, be no interview.
Note: Answer Sheets for Written Exam will be OMR in nature. Pass of physical fitness may be required for certain posts as per the government guidelines. For typing skill test an average speed of 8000 key depressions per minute is required. Application Fee: Online Mode Rs. 100/-
Candidates are suggested to pay the application fee through State Bank of India only either in the form of challan, generated on line, or through SBI Net Banking. Payment can also be made through any Credit or Debit Card.

All Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying application fee.
