ONGC Recruitment 2014: 185 Vacancies in Western Offshore Unit, Mumbai

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is one of the most dynamic ‘Maharatna’ PSE of India engaged in Production and Exploration of Oil and Natural Gas. It contributes to almost 80% of domestic production of Oil in India. ONGC is also considered as the most promising entrepreneur in terms of CTC offered to its employees.

With the recent announcement, the ONGC – Western Sector, Mumbai invites competent applications from young and dynamic professionals for various positions under A-II, A-I and W-I cadres. The applicants should have registered with the Employment Exchanges located within Maharashtra to be eligible to apply (this is not a mandatory criteria for departmental candidates).

Pay Scale & Remunerations:

  • A-II Level of Posts: Rs.12000 – Rs. 27000 in the grade as defined by ONGC.
  • A-I Level of Posts: Rs.11000 – Rs. 24000 in the grade as defined by ONGC.
  • W-I Level of Posts: Rs.10000 – Rs. 18000 in the grade as defined by ONGC.
  • Other perks and remuneration will be as per the discretion of the company (ONGC)

Educational requirement:

  • The aspirants must have completed SSC/ Matriculation (10th Standard) along with 3 years Diploma (for A-II level) and ITI/ Trade Certificate (for A-I/ W-1 level) in respective disciplines.
  • Heavy Motor Vehicle Driving License and Physical Standard/ Fitness is required for certain posts (e.g. Junior Motor Vehicle Driver) and candidates should be prepared for that.
  • Assistant Technician (Electrical): The aspirants must have completed 3 years Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 60% Marks (50% for SC/ST). They must have a certificate of competency as an Electrical Supervisor.
  • Assistant Technician (Mechanical): The aspirants must have completed 3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% Marks (50% for SC/ST).
  • Assistant Technician (Production): The aspirants must have completed 3 years Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Petroleum Engineering with minimum 60% Marks (50% for SC/ST).
  • Technical Assistant Grade III (Chemistry): The aspirants must have completed Post-Graduate Degree in Chemistry.
  • Assistant Technician (Electronics): The aspirants must have completed 3 years Diploma in Electronics/ Telecom / E&T Engineering with minimum 60% Marks (50% for SC/ST), OR, M. Sc in Physics with Electronics as a subject.
  • Assistant Technician (Boiler): The aspirants must have completed 3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% Marks (50% for SC/ST). They must have a 1st Class Boiler Attendant Certificate.
  • Marine Radio Assistant (Grade III): The aspirants must have completed Matriculation with minimum 60% Marks (50% for SC/ST) with a 2nd Class Certificate of competency for Marine Radio Operation along with Global Maritime Distress and Safety (GMDSS) certification. OR, They must have Radio Telephone Operator’s Certificate of Proficiency in Maritime Mobile Service with Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) certification with 1 year of relevant experience. OR, They must have Diploma in Electronics/ Telecom with 60% Marks (50% Marks for SC/ST) with Global Maritime Distress and Safety Systems (GMDSS) certification along with 1 year or relevant experience.
  • Assistant Rigman (Drilling): The aspirants must have completed 3 years Diploma in Mechanical/ Petroleum Engineering with minimum 60% Marks (50% for SC/ST) and must have required Physical Fitness.
  • Assistant Grade-III (Material Management): The aspirants must have completed 3 years Diploma in Materials Management/ Inventory/ Stock Control with minimum 60% Marks (50% for SC/ST) OR, One Year Post-Graduate Diploma in Materials Management with minimum 60% Marks (50% for SC/ST).
  • Assistant Technician (Civil): The aspirants must have completed 3 years Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 60% Marks (50% for SC/ST)
  • Junior Assistant Technician (Boiler): The aspirants must have completed Matriculation/ Class-X or equivalent board certification with Science and must have 2nd Class Boiler Attendants (Oil/Gas Fired) Certificate.
  • Junior Assistant Technician (Production): The aspirants must have completed Matriculation/ Class-X or equivalent board certification with Science and must have a Trade Certificate in Fitting or, Mechanic Trades.
  • Junior Assistant Technician (Cementing): The aspirants must have completed Matriculation/ Class-X or equivalent board certification with Science and must have a Trade Certificate in Auto/ Fitting/ Mechanic Trade. They must have a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.
  • Junior Fire Supervisor: The aspirants should have completed Intermediate with 6(six) months experience in Fire Services with a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle driving License. Driving and Physical Tests will be applicable for these posts.
  • Junior Motor Vehicle Driver (Winch Operation): The aspirants must have completed Matriculation/ Class-X or equivalent board certification along with Driving License for Heavy Vehicle and 3 years Driving Experience of heavy vehicles.
  • Junior Assistant Technician (Fitting): The aspirants must have completed Matriculation/ Class-X or equivalent board certification with Science and must have a Trade Certificate in Fitting Trade.
  • Junior Assistant Technician (Electrical): The aspirants must have completed Matriculation/ Class-X or equivalent board certification with Science and must have a Trade Certificate in Electrical Trade. They must have a certificate of competency as an Electrical Supervisor.
  • Junior Assistant (Steno-English): The aspirants must have completed Graduation with typing proficiency of 30 wpm in English and shorthand proficiency of 80 wpm. He should possess a certificate of minimum 6 months duration in Computer Application in Office environment.
  • Junior Assistant (Material Management): The aspirants must have completed Graduation (BSc) with Physics and Mathematics and should have typing proficiency of 30 wpm in English. He should possess a certificate of minimum 6 months duration in Computer Application.
  • Junior Assistant (Accounts): The aspirants must have completed Graduation in Commerce (BCom) and should have typing proficiency of 30 wpm in English. He should possess a certificate of minimum 6 months duration in Computer Application.
  • Junior Slinger-cum-Rigger: The aspirants must have completed Matriculation/ Class-X or equivalent board certification along with Driving License for Heavy Vehicle and 3 years experience in Loading and Unloading.
  • Junior Assistant (P&A): The aspirants must have completed Graduation in any discipline and should have typing proficiency of 30 wpm in English. He should possess a certificate of minimum 6 months duration in Computer Application.
  • Junior Technical Assistant (Chemistry): The aspirants must have completed Graduation in Science (BSc) with Chemistry as a major subject.
  • Junior Motor Vehicle Driver (HV Operation): The aspirants must have completed Matriculation/ Class-X or equivalent board certification along with Driving License for Heavy Vehicle and 3 years Driving Experience of heavy vehicles.
  • Junior Fireman: aspirants must have completed Matriculation/ Class-X or equivalent board certification along with 3 months experience in Fire Fighting and should have a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle Driving license

Criteria with respect to Age:

  • All candidates applying for A-I and A-II Level should be within a minimum age of 18 years and a maximum age of 30 years.
  • All candidates applying for W-I Level should be within a minimum age of 18 years and a maximum age of 27 years
  • The reference age will be reckoned as on 20-Jun-2014.
  • In case of Sc, ST, PWD, Ex-SM and Departmental candidates the age relaxation will be applicable as per ONGC norms.

Application Fees:

  • For General and OBC: Rs.300 only
  • For SC/ST/PWD/Ex-Servicemen: Rs.100 only

IMPORTANT NOTE: Candidates are required to pay the requisite Fee vide SBI Challan downloadable from www.ongcindia.com in ONGC A/c.No.30827318409, Branch Code No.1576.

  • SC/ST candidates applying against posts for General category will have to remit the full fee of Rs.300 against the application fee.
  • There is no relaxation for departmental candidates, although that can be reimbursed.

Selection Methodology:

  • The selection will be based on Written Test/ Physical Test/ Driving Test/ Physical Efficiency Test/ Stenography Efficiency Test/ Typing Efficiency Test. (Wherever/ whichever is applicable) and a Personal Interview
  • Test paper will be Bilingual i.e. Hindi and English
  • The candidates will have to qualify at each stage separately and in aggregate.

Mode of Application:

  • The applications will be accepted ONLINE only through the website of ONGC at www.ongcindia.com. No other modes of application will ever be accepted.
  • Employment Exchange Registration is mandatory for application (except for Departmental Candidates)
  • The candidates are advised to read through the detailed advertisement as available at //www.eapplicationonline.com/ongcmumbairec/Document/Advertisement.pdf , before applying online.
  • SBI Challan downloaded from the website, completely filled in and fee deposited in concerned account
  • Recent passport size photograph and scan copy of Bank Challan along with scanned signature will be required for Online Application Submission
  • The print out of the online application along with all supporting documents and proof of fee payment (original) must be kept for future reference. ONGC Copy and Candidates copy must be kept in safe custody.
  • NO hardcopy of No document should be sent to ONGC at this moment.

Important Note:

  • Keep a photo copy of registration slip, Challan and other essential information like email ID and password for record and reference
  • Any form of canvassing will be dealt with strict disciplinary actions.
  • NO manual applications will be entertained.
