Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited is a Navratna awarded Government of India Enterprise, under the administrative control of Central Government has passed a long history of achievements in the last 56 years. Since its inception in 1956 The NLC is contributing to nation’s growth and development with its opencast coal mines and thermal power stations contributing more than 2740 Mega Watt of power generation. With the present Annual Turnover of Rs.4866 Cores NLC is spreading its wings in the frontiers of Mining and Power generation in the country.

All the Mines and Power Stations of NLC are ISO Certified for Quality Management System, Environmental Management System and Occupational Health & Safety Management System. Working with such a versatile profile of organization is a dream for millions of youths in India.

With the present announcement from NLC, young, energetic and aspiring candidates are invited for induction of Graduate Trainee & Technician Apprentice Trainee in the corporation for a period of 1 year.

The criteria for eligibility and the norms of recruitment are detailed as under:

Important Dates:

  • Starting date of Online Registration of Application (only for Graduate Apprentice): 01-Nov-2013
  • Last date for Online Registration of Application (only for Graduate Apprentice):  10-Nov-2013
  • Last date for Sending Hardcopy of Online Application/ Prescribed Application for Technician Apprentice Trainee: 20-Nov-2013
  • Date of reckoning Qualification: 30-Jan-2011 onwards
  • Date for Certificate Verification: Tentatively on 01-Dec-2013
  • Date of induction of Trainee Apprentice: Tentatively on 15-Dec-2013

    • Mechanical Engineering: 50 Positions
    • Electrical Engineering: 50 Positions
    • Civil Engineering: 15 Positions
    • Instrumentation Engineering: 10 Positions
    • Chemical Engineering: 10 Positions
    • Mining Engineering: 10 Positions
    • Comp. Sc. & Engineering: 10 Positions
    • Electronics & Comm. Engineering: 10 Positions
    • Transportation Engineering: 15 Positions
    • Technician Apprentice: Total 200 Posts
      • Mechanical Engineering: 70 Positions
      • Electrical Engineering: 60 Positions
      • Civil Engineering: 20 Positions
      • Instrumentation Engineering: 10 Positions
      • Chemical Engineering: 10 Positions
      • Mining Engineering: 10 Positions
      • Comp. Sc. & Engineering: 10 Positions
      • Electronics & Comm. Engineering: 10 Positions

Essential Criteria for Domicile:

Candidates belonging to the States of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and the Union Territories of Puducherry, Andaman, Nicobar Islands and Laksha Dweep are only eligible to participate in this recruitment procedure.

Essential Criteria for Age:

  • The candidates intending to apply for this position should have completed their education on or after 30-Jan-2011 are only eligible to apply.

Educational Criteria:

  • Graduate Apprentice Trainee: The applicants interested for applying for these posts must have completed Bachelors Degree in Engineering/ Technology in the concerned branches of Engineering with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in aggregate to be eligible.
  • Technician Apprentice: The applicants interested for applying for these posts must have completed 3 years Diploma in Engineering/ Technology in the concerned branches of Engineering with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in aggregate to be eligible.
    • The candidates applying for Commercial Practice Trainee, must have completed Diploma in Commercial Practice with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in aggregate
    • The candidates should not have undergone any similar training elsewhere
    • The candidates should not have work experience of more than 1 year after completion of education.

Training Compensation:

  • The applicants selected for the positions of Graduate Apprentice Trainee will be offered a monthly compensation of Rs.3560 per month as a consolidated remuneration.
  • The applicants selected for the positions of Technician Apprentice Trainee will be offered a monthly compensation of Rs.2530 per month as a consolidated remuneration.
  • Besides payment of stipend, the trainees will be provided residential accommodation on sharing basis at nominal rent.
  • No other allowances will be applicable for the trainees.

Period of Training:

  • The applicants selected for the positions of Graduate Apprentice Trainee/ Technician Trainee will undergo a training period of 1 year (12 months) from the date of joining.

Mode of Selection:

  • The selection of candidates will be done through a systematic procedure of Personal Interview and Skill Test for selective posts.

  • Interested candidates for Technician Apprentice Trainee (Diploma) fulfilling the eligibility criteria as mentioned above can apply through the Prescribed Application Form as available at the website of NLC at //www.nlcindia.com. There is no Online Registration for Diploma Technician Apprentice.
  • The candidates need to ensure that they fulfil the detailed requirement with facts and proofs
  • The Candidates must bring the original application along with photocopies and originals of certificates in support of their age, education, caste verification and other essential considerations for Interview at the mentioned venue
  • The candidates should bring recent passport size photographs to the interview venue
