NIREH-Bhopal (ICMR) Recruitment 2014 For Director & Scientists

National Institute for Research in Environmental Health (NIREH) at Bhopal is functioning since 2010 as a research establishment under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The NIREH is established to undertake research on the continuing health needs of patients affected by exposure to Methyl Isocyanate (MIC); biomedical research on issues related to gas-exposed victims particularly respiratory and eye related diseases, kidney diseases, cancer, genetic disorders, congenital disorders, mental and neurological health, etc. especially after the fatal gas tragedy in Bhopal. This institute is an apex Research Institution on Environmental Health in India.

With the present notification from NIREH-Bhopal, it invites candidates to apply for various apex positions such as Director, and Scientists in Grade-E and Scientists in Grade-C for the institute.

3. Scientist ‘C’: 10 Positions [One each in the following disciplines- (1) General Medicine; (2) Ophthalmology; (3) Psychiatry; (4) Radiology; (5) Gynecology & Obstetrics; (6) Pulmonology; (7) Pediatrics; (8) Pathology AND, (9) Microbiology; and (10) Molecular Biology]

Pay Scale & Remunerations:

• Director: The candidates selected for this post will be eligible for remuneration in Pay Band – IV in the range of Rs.37400 – Rs.67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs.10000.
• Scientist ‘E’: The candidates selected for this post will be eligible for remuneration in Pay Band – IV in the range of Rs.37400 – Rs.67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs.8700.
• Scientist ‘C’: The candidates selected for this post will be eligible for remuneration in Pay Band – III in the range of Rs.15600 – Rs.39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs.6600.
• Other allowances and perks will be applicable for these posts as per rules of ICMR.

Age of the Candidates:

• Director: The candidates applying for this post should not exceed maximum age of 52 years.
• Scientist ‘E’: The candidates applying for this post should not exceed maximum age of 50 years.
• Scientist ‘C’:  The candidates applying for this post should not exceed maximum age of 40 years.
• However, there will be relaxation in upper age limit for privileged categories as per the Government of India norms.

Education Essentials and Experience:

• Director: The candidates applying for this post should have completed PG Degree in medical subjects recognized by MCI or Doctorate Degree in Life/ Biological Sciences or relevant Biological subjects or equivalent. They must have Fifteen (15) years of relevant research/ teaching experience in environmental health related areas in Life Sciences/ Medicine/ Public Health etc., out of which at least 5 years in a managerial position to handle R&D projects independently and effectively. Additional Post-Doctoral research/ teaching experience in relevant subjects and knowledge of Computer Operation is desirable for this post.
• Scientist ‘E’ [For the disciplines- (1) General Medicine; (2) Ophthalmology; (3) Psychiatry; (4) Radiology; (5) Gynecology & Obstetrics; (6) Pulmonology; (7) Nephrology;(8) Pathology;(9) Epidemiology]: The candidates applying for this post should have completed MBBS Degree as recognized by MCI with 10 (Ten) years of relevant research/ teaching experience after obtaining MBBS Degree. OR, should have Postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) with seven (7) years R&D/teaching experience OR, Postgraduate Diploma in medical subjects with eight (8) years R&D/teaching experience in the required subjects, OR, DM or equivalent degree with four (04) years experience in the above mentioned subjects after obtaining DM qualification for Scientist-E (Nephrology). Additional Post-Doctoral research/ teaching experience in relevant subjects and knowledge of Computer Operation is desirable for this post.
• Scientist ‘E’ [For the disciplines- (10) Biochemistry (11) Microbiology; and (12) Molecular Biology]: The candidates applying for this post should have completed 1^st class Master’s degree in the relevant subjects mentioned above or related Life Sciences with 10 year’s Post-Qualification R&D/teaching experience, OR, 2^nd Class M.Sc. + Ph.D degree in the relevant subjects with 10 year’s Post-Qualification R&D/teaching experience. Additional Doctoral Degree, Post-Doctoral research/ teaching experience in relevant subjects and knowledge of Computer Operation is desirable for this post.
• Scientist ‘C’ [For the disciplines- (1) General Medicine; (2) Ophthalmology; (3) Psychiatry; (4) Radiology; (5) Gynecology & Obstetrics; (6) Pulmonology; (7) Pediatrics; (8) Pathology]: The candidates applying for this post should have completed MBBS degree recognized by MCI or equivalent with 4 years’ Post-qualification R&D/teaching experience, OR, Postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) with one year R&D/teaching experience or Postgraduate Diploma in medical subjects with two years R&D/teaching experience. Additional Post-Doctoral research/ teaching experience in relevant subjects and knowledge of Computer Operation is desirable for this post.
• Scientist ‘C’ [For the disciplines- (9) Microbiology ;( 10) Molecular Biology]:  The candidates applying for this post should have completed 1^st class Master’s degree in the relevant subjects mentioned above with 4 year’s Post-Qualification R&D/teaching experience, OR, 2^nd Class M.Sc. + Ph.D degree in the relevant subjects with 4 year’s Post-Qualification R&D/teaching experience. Additional Doctoral Degree, Post-Doctoral research/ teaching experience in relevant subjects and knowledge of Computer Operation is desirable for this post.

Special Considerations:

• Candidates with Post Graduate Degree in medical subjects/ Doctorate Degree in Life Sciences/ relevant subjects shall be recruited as Scientist ‘C’ after requisite training under Talent Search Scheme as per Schedule-IV.
• MD/ MS/ Ph.D. (for candidates with 1^st class M.Sc Degree) shall be treated equivalent to three years experience.
• Postgraduate Diploma shall be treated equivalent to two years experience.

• SC, ST, PWD, Women are exempted from paying Application Fee
