Educational Qualification:
Maintainers- Candidates must have passed SSLC, and have two years ITI with 60% marks in aggregate for UR/ OBC/ Ex-Serviceman candidates (50% marks in aggregate for SC/ ST category candidates) in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Civil trades. Candidates must have working knowledge of Malayalam language.
Train Operator/ Station Controllers/ Junior Engineers- Candidates must have passed three years Diploma from a Government recognized institute with minimum 60% marks in aggregate for UR/ OBC/ Ex-Serviceman candidates (50% marks in aggregate for SC/ ST category candidates) in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics trades. Candidates must have Knowledge of Malayalam language in all the three attributes that is Read, Write, and Speak.
Section Engineers- Candidates must ahve Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a Government recognized institute with minimum 60% marks in aggregate for UR/ OBC/ Ex-Serviceman candidates (50% marks in aggregate for SC/ ST category candidates) in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Civil disciplines. Working knowledge of Malayalam language is compulsory.
Age Limit:
Maintainer- Minimum 18 years and Maximum 24 years as on 01-October-2015
Train Operator/ Station Controller/ Junior Engineer- Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years as on 01-October-2015
Section Engineer- Minimum 18 years and Maximum 26 years as on 01-October-2015

Pay Scale:
Maintainer- Rs. 8000-14140/- (NE III Grade)
Train Operator/ Station Controller/ Junior Engineer- Rs. 13500-25520/- (S1 Grade)
Section Engineer- Rs. 16000-30770/- (S2 Grade)
Application Fee:
Rs. 300/- for SC/ ST category candidates
Rs. 600/- for all other candidates
