ITBP Recruitment 2014 For Induction of 25 ASI & 181 Head Constables In Various Capacities
Indo Tibetan Border Police force is one of the most important para-military forces operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs Government of India. The force has acclaimed much prestigious recognition for its gallantry and brave acts in counting various insurgencies inside the home land and abroad. To be a part of this reputed organization is one of the most preferred choices of youths today, who would like to drive their career in a military of para-military force.
With the recent announcement from ITBP there are certain requirements of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer-DR/LDCE) and Head Constable (Education & Stress Counselor/ Ministerial – DR & LDCE) for filling up positions with competent selection norms. Any Indian citizen (both Male & Female) can apply for these positions.
The details of the recruitment procedure are as follows:

Details of the Posts & Number of Vacancies: Total 206 Posts
1) Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer – DR): 21 Posts (UR-11, SC-03, ST-02, & OBC-05)
2) Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer – LDCE): 04 Posts (UR-02, SC-01, & OBC-01)
3) Head Constable (Education & Stress Counselor): 50 Posts (UR-16, SC-10, ST-03, & OBC-21)
It includes backlog vacancy-19 Posts (SC-05, ST-01 & OBC-13)
4) Head Constable (Ministerial – DR): 111 Posts (UR-56, SC-17, ST-08, & OBC-30)
5) Head Constable (Ministerial – LDCE): 20 Posts (UR-10, SC-03, ST-02, & OBC-05)
Pay Provisions:
The applicants selected for various post will be offered monthly emoluments as stated below:
- Assistant Sub-Inspector: Pay Band-1 in the range of Rs.5200-Rs.20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2800 along with other perks and allowances.
- Head Constable (Master/ Workshop/ Engine Driver): Pay Band-1 in the range of Rs.5200-Rs.20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2400 along with other perks and allowances.
Education Qualification: The candidate must have the following qualification to be eligible for the job positions:
- Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer – DR/LDCE): The applicants should have completed 10+2 (Intermediate) from a recognized board or equivalent. They should have Stenography Dictation Speed of 80 words per minute for 10 minutes and Transcription Speed of the same in 50 minutes in English/ 65 minutes in Hindi on Computer. Skill test of Stenography will be applicable for these posts.
- Head Constable (Education & Stress Counselor): The applicants should have completed Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with Psychology as a subject or Bachelor’s Degree with Bachelor of Education/ Bachelor of Teaching or equivalent.
- Head Constable (Ministerial – DR/LDCE): The applicants should have completed 10+2 from a recognized board or equivalent. They should have Typing Speed of 35 words per minute in English/ 30 words per minutes in Hindi on Computer. This corresponds to 10500 key depressions per hour (KDPH) in English and 9000 key depressions per hour (KDPH) in Hindi. Skill test of Typing on Computers will be applicable for these posts.
Age Specification: The applicant must have their age as per the descriptions below as on the last date of submission of Application
- Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer – DR/LDCE): The candidates should have obtained the minimum age of 18 years and should not have exceeded maximum age of 25 years for DR and 40 years for LDCE posts as on 01-Jan-2014 to become eligible to apply.
- Head Constable (Education & Stress Counselor): The candidates should have obtained the minimum age of 20 years and should not have exceeded maximum age of 25 years as on 31-Mar-2014 to become eligible to apply.
- Head Constable (Ministerial – DR/LDCE): The candidates should have obtained the minimum age of 18 years and should not have exceeded maximum age of 25 years for DR and 40 years for LDCE posts as on 01-Jan-2014 to become eligible to apply.
- However, the relaxation in upper age is applicable as per rules for reserved category of candidates.
Physical Measurement:
For Head Constable (Education & Stress Counselor):
- Height: 170cm (Male) and 157cm (Female)
- Chest (only male): 80cm without expansion and 85cm with expansion
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age
- Eyesight: Minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes without correction
For ASI(Steno) and HC(Ministerial) (DR & LDCE):
- Height: 165cm (Male) and 155cm (Female)
- Chest (only male): 77cm without expansion and 82cm with expansion
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age
- Eyesight: Minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes without correction
General for all:
- The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins or squint in eyes.
- The applicants must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect
- Permanent tattoos (except small tattoos in the inner side of arm for religious importance) are banned for this recruitment.
- NOTE: Appropriate relaxation will be offered to candidates belonging to Hilly area, or those of SC/ ST category.
Mode of Selection:
The selection of candidates will be following the following procedure:
- Height Bar Test
- Race (1.6km to be completed in 10 mins for Male and 1.6km to be completed in 12 minutes for Female)
- Document Verification
- Physical Standard Test
- Written Exam
- Skill Test (Only for ASI-Stenographer and HC-Ministerial candidates)
- Final Medical Examination
Application Fee:
- Unreserved (General) & OBC: Rs. 50 only
- Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, PWD, Women & Ex-Servicemen: Fees exempted
The fee can be deposited through the Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) only. Any other mode of payment will not be accepted.
