Defense Recruitment 2014 For 5121 ASC BN (MT) (CIV GT) For 100 Group C Posts

A Career in defense service, whether it is in Combat positions or in supporting duties, has always been admired among the youth. With the recent notification from 5121 ASC Battalion (MT) under the Ministry of Defense, there is an announcement for induction of 100 positions of Group-C posts in the category of Vehicle Mechanic, Safaiwala (Multi-Tasking Staff), Lower Division Clerk, Cleaner, Cook, Civilian Motor Driver, & Tarpaulin Maker. Only Male candidates can apply for these posts, except for those advertised for Lower Division Clerks, where female candidates can also apply.

The details of the vacancies and recruitment norms are as follows:

  • Closing date of receipt of Application Form: within 21 Days from the date of announcement of this Advertisement

Details of vacancies: Total 100 Posts

  • Vehicle Mechanic (Male Only): 01 Post (UR)
  • Safaiwala (Multi-Tasking Staff) (Male Only): 02 Posts (UR)
  • Lower Division Clerk (Both Male and Female): 04 Posts (UR-01, SC-02, OBC-01)
  • Cleaner for vehicles (Male only): 03 Posts (UR-02, SC-01, out of which Ex-SM-01)
  • Cook (Male only): 03 Posts (UR-02, OBC-01)
  • Civilian Motor Driver (Ordinary Grade – Male Only): 86 Posts (UR-42, SC-23, OBC-21, out of which Ex-Servicemen-09)
  • Tarpaulin Maker (Male only): 01 Post (UR)

Pay Scale & Remunerations:

  • Vehicle Mechanic, LDC, Cook & Civilian Motor Driver: The candidates selected for these positions will receive a monthly remuneration in the scale of Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs.1900 per month.
  • Safaiwala (Multi-Tasking Staff), Cleaner for vehicles & Tarpaulin Maker: The candidates selected for these positions will receive a monthly remuneration in the scale of Rs.5200 – Rs.20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs.1800 per month.
  • Apart from this, they will be entitled to receive other perks and allowances as per the norms of 5121 ASC Bn (MT)

Academics Requirement:

  • Vehicle Mechanic: The candidates should have passed Matriculation from a recognized Board with 1 year experience in the trade. He must be capable of reading the names of the Tools and Vehicles in English and Hindi.
  • Safaiwala (Multi-Tasking Staff): The candidates should have passed Matriculation from a recognized Board with 1 year experience in the trade. Must be conversant with duties with respect to the trade.
  • Lower Division Clerk: The candidates should have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) and must have a Typing Speed of 35 words per minute in English Typing and/ or 30 words per minute in Hindi Typing (corresponding to 10500/ 9000 key depressions per hour respectively with an average of 5 key depressions per word)
  • Cleaner for vehicles: The candidates should have passed Matriculation from a recognized Board with proficiency in the trade.
  • Cook: The candidates should have passed Matriculation from a recognized Board with Good Knowledge of Indian Cooking and proficiency in the trade.
  • Civilian Motor Driver (Ordinary Grade): The candidates should have passed Matriculation from a recognized Board and must possess a valid Driving License for Civilian Heavy Motor Vehicles. The candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in driving Civilian Heavy Motor Vehicles after obtaining the Driving License for the same.
  • Tarpaulin Maker: The candidates should have passed Matriculation from a recognized Board with proficiency in the trade.

Age of the candidates:

  • For all Posts except that for Civilian Motor Driver: The candidates applying for the post of Constables should have attained minimum age of 18 years and should not have crossed maximum age of 25 years (for General Category of candidates) as on the last date of Submission of Application (the Cut-Off Date).
  • For Civilian Motor Driver: The candidates applying for the post of Constables should have attained minimum age of 18 years and should not have crossed maximum age of 27 years (for General Category of candidates) as on the last date of Submission of Application (the Cut-Off Date).
  • However, for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC and Ex-Servicemen there is relaxation in the upper age limit as per the service directives.
  • However, no relaxation will be applicable for candidates applying against unreserved categories.

Physical Standard/ Medical Fitness:

The candidates are required to have minimum physical standard and Medical Fitness to perform his assigned duties to become eligible for consideration.

Selection Procedure:

The selection will be conducted in the following manner:

  1. 1.    Verification of documents
  2. 2.    Physical Efficiency Test
  3. 3.    Written Examination & Trade Test
  4. 4.    Pre-Employment Medical Examination
  5. 5.    Final Merit List

  • The applicants need to ensure that they fulfill required eligibility criteria before applying for these positions
  • The application form accompanied with requisite certificates must reach the concerned office as defined in the detail advertisement on or before the scheduled last date for receipt of application.
  • The applications must be attached with a Self-Addressed Envelope with Rs.25 Postage stamp affixed on it.
  • Without this Stamped Envelope the applications will not be considered.
  • The envelope containing above documents should be super scribed  “APPLICATION  FOR THE POST “_____________” Along with Self and Father’s Name” in bold and Capital letters
